Vindicta is the Ilujanka general of Zaros's army in The Heart. Participants will require 80 attack to enter her chamber.
Getting There[]
Vindicta is located in the southwest area of The Heart. To enter her chamber, the player must get 40 Zarosian killcount (20 if the player has unlocked the 50% killcount reduction perk, requiring 4,500 Reputation), and have 80 Attack. Players can easily get killcount by visiting nodes that Zarosian groups are attacking or simply kill the ones inside the fortress area.
Recommended Equipment[]
The choice of combat style won't have a huge effect, as we will be in a mass. However, low leveled players may wish to use magic or ranged, as they will not be taking melee damage.
The Fight[]
Phase 1[]
Vindicta spawns in the middle of the arena. Although her only ability is dragonfire, she hits far harder than the other generals (excluding Gregorovic, who hits just as hard as her). Even then, players should be able to recover the lost health through Soul Split; just remember to flick back to protect/deflect melee to avoid taking large hits.
After several attacks into the battle, Vindicta will call on Gorvek to unleash dragonfire on her target. This will deal rapid magic damage of up to 1000 per tick, which is unaffected by Debilitate, Reflect, Resonance, Anticipate, Devotion, protection prayers/curses and protection from dragonfire. This damage does not increase even if the player has used Berserk. This ability is signified when Vindicta raises her swords into the air. After a patch fix, the player will have more then enough time to avoid the dragonfire before it reaches them.
Vindicta's attack pattern is as follows:
- Does 2 auto-attacks
- Hurricane
- Does 2 auto-attacks
- Does 1 auto-attack (team only)
- Ranged attack (team only)
- Does 1 auto-attack (team only)
- Dragonfire wall
- Does 3 auto-attacks
- Repeats
Note that if the target runs from her and she is unable to attack them, she will use her ranged attack which is normally used in teams and will skip some of her normal attacks. The ranged attack in a normal situation hits everyone that she is not focused on. Her ranged and hurricane attacks will always hit the players no matter what armour they wear.
Once Vindicta falls at half health, phase 2 begins. At 110,000 lifepoints, after any dragonfire walls if possible, immediately use Berserk, Death's Swiftness or Sunshine and gain adrenaline rapidly.
Phase 2[]
This phase starts once Vindicta falls at half health, and she will mount Gorvek. If using melee, do not use Assault and/or Destroy while she is mounting him as she gains increased collision size and will move all over the place, cancelling them out. Wait a few seconds for Vindicta to settle and come to you before attacking her.
Vindicta will follow a set attack pattern during this phase:
- Melee attack
- Ranged attack
- Melee attack
- Dragonfire attack
- Repeats
Note: The attack pattern becomes seemingly glitched depending on the player's situation:
- If the player is too close to the spot they landed on, they will take an additional melee hit which does not count in the pattern above.
- If the player is too far from Vindicta and Gorvek, the first melee attack becomes skipped and they will go straight for the ranged attack.
Players should watch their health carefully during this phase; although Vindicta's melee attack is the same just as in phase 1, Gorvek's ranged attack will always hit and can deal over 4000 damage. For this reason, resonance is extremely helpful for recovering health, as the ranged attack is guaranteed to hit. Using Debiltate and Devotion is recommended to mitigate as much damage as possible, as it is still possible to Soul Split lost health during this phase; just remember to keep prayer switching to the right attack so the recovered health does not get removed by her attacks. If using soul split, it is recommended to prayer switch to protect from range/deflect missiles prior to Gorvek's ranged attack. After the last melee attack, Gorvek will fly and land in one corner of the arena before unleashing dragonfire. Just before they fly to the corner, use Combust, Slaughter or Fragmentation Shot (depending on your choice of combat) to deal extra damage on them. Avoid the dragonfire wall as usual, and let the two come to you (or if you prefer, surge behind them to avoid the fire altogether). If you walk to them, you will most likely walk into a dragonfire wall and take unnecessary damage from it.
