Previously...

ThePsionic is one of the most active contributors to the wiki, and I think he has a legitimate use for adminship. He's usually around for new updates, and he's one of the more involved countervandalism people (not that that means much these days). He is also very project-oriented, and has at various times taken a big role in large, structured tasks that improve the site in a noticeable way. He's also good at finding easy ways to solve hard problems, using whatever information is available (particularly various Jagex APIs). Those are both mindsets that I really want to see ingrained deeply into the wiki's culture, and I think Psi can help a great deal with that. I've had reservations about his behavior in the past, but my impression is that that's done with. He's done a lot of good stuff for the wiki in the last two years, and I have high hopes for what he can do as an admin. ʞooɔ 12:15, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

Questions for the nominee

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
I will continue contributing to the wiki as I am doing now, which will be made easier with my ability to delete pages, as well as undoing vandalism and fixing up edits where I can. I am pretty much always in the chat when I am online, and I tend to visit IRC from time to time as well as having a Skype account, so I am always contactable if someone requires my assistance.

2. What have been your most helpful contributions to the RuneScape Wiki, and why?
At the moment, I am the sole updater of Treasure Hunter/Promotions, and I tend to update music track files fairly quickly as well as having my eye on the recent changes almost always. I often make new pages when it comes to updates, and I can utilise Jagex's APIs in order to get information about newly released items and NPCs. I am also currently leading a large project to improve monster data, which will make monster pages machine-readable to make it possible to automate the Bestiary so that it always stays up-to-date. I have also done a lot of cleaning up using my bot account.

3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have not been in any edit wars in my time on the wiki. There have been alterations with several users, but those have been solved fairly quickly.

I do want to let you know that I was part of the "cabal" that shook up the Clan Chat at the start of the year, however more as an onlooker than anything. I have said... things, which were pretty stupid in hindsight (I'll let the forum thread speak for itself), and I regret the actions I have made during that time. I can make a promise that fallout like this will not happen again.

4. Should this request be successful, which of the following, if any, do you wish to be added to your account: IRC operator; Clan Chat administrator?
I would like to become IRC operator.

I'm concerned with the specific people that are in this clan. What do you guys do as a clan? And why are you always in RSW, often talking of your own clan's business? MolMan 14:08, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

We do jack shit as a clan, the only reason we left RSW and founded our own is so that we could enjoy the benefits of an avatar for ourselves. And we very barely talk about our clan in RSW.  ThePsionic  14:10, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

I think it’s fair to say that some, if not most, of your clan members have some sort of problem with RSW - leading to some questionable behaviour by your clan mates at times. I cannot state the reasoning for the other people leaving RSW due to those people not being me. I don't always condone of their actions, but there isn't much I can do about it.  ThePsionic  20:25, September 1, 2015 (UTC)

• What do you think an admin's role should be in the community? User:Cqm/Signature
  • Admins, to me, are the backbone of any successful wiki. They make sure that everything that happens on there happens in an orderly fashion, that false information is removed from the wiki as soon as it surfaces, and they should be able to contribute to projects to improve the wiki that "normal" users cannot do (due to things like page deleting).  ThePsionic  08:06, August 30, 2015 (UTC)
    • As part of that backbone, do you feel admins should be held to different standards? And are there any areas within those standards that you recognise there's room for improvement in your capacity as a (potential) admin? User:Cqm/Signature
      • People should be able to trust on admins at all times to be neutral in times of dispute, and to hold a cool head when things get rough. Then I replied that you shouldn't worry about what people's decisions are but what they're saying and learning from your mistakes. And so my question isn't really specific to me, but what have you learned from your previous RfA that others opposed you on?   • During my previous RfA, I was rather quick-to-judge and quite jumpy at times. In the meantime, I have learned that negative feedback is still feedback, and rather than opposing it, should be used as a learning moment to develop yourself.  ThePsionic  20:06, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

I have, in my experience, become more active since the last RfA, and I have been taking on bigger projects. I also feel like I can handle big problems better, keeping a cool head in times of trouble rather than flipping right off the figurative handle.  ThePsionic  13:19, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

Neutral/Soft support/Fuck no strong oppose - My stance really hasn't changed since the last time around. You are pretty active on updates, but still fairly lacking in antivandalism. Question - How many pages have you requested be deleted in the last week/month/3 months? You could continue contributing, reverting vandalism and fixing up edits without the tools. The only administrator specific function you mention is page deletion.

In the meantime, Cook has thought me that being an admin isn't just about making sure stuff runs smoothly on the wiki. Administrators should also be the face of the wiki, pulling in new people from various sources and getting them to know the wiki. I considered this to not be a huge issue before, but in the meantime I've started to think that an admin's job is equally important inside and outside of the wiki.  ThePsionic  20:14, August 30, 2015 (UTC)
