If any rule, policy, or guideline prevents you from building a better RuneScape resource, ignore it. Rules are supposed to help improve the wiki in most cases, but if you feel they aren't doing their jobs in a particular case, you can go against them. This should not be done without a good reason and a consensus.
Particularly, some editors tend to follow a policy simply because it is a policy, not because it makes more sense in a particular case. Remember that all rules are really just generalized guidelines, and you don't have to follow them all the time if you really think it isn't improving the wiki.
