Trouble with #expr :([]

I have this:

{{#expr:{{GEP|Plain pizza}}-({{GEP|Cheese}}+{{GEP|Pizza base}}+{{GEP|Tomato}})/143 round 0}}

It is supposed to get the price of a plain pizza (702) minus the prices of Cheese (204), Pizza base (276) and tomato (728) together, then divide that by 143 and remove all the digits after the decimal point. So can anyone see anything wrong with that code? Cause it returns 694 which is obviously incorrect.

I forgot to say that just adding/minusing without dividing gives -506.
Is this better? You forgot two parenthesis.
{{#expr:({{GEP|Plain pizza}}-({{GEP|Cheese}}+{{GEP|Pizza base}}+{{GEP|Tomato}}))/143 round 0}}
-4 222 talk 11:47, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Are parenthesis these () ? Why would I need 2?
  1. REDIRECT User:-Matt/sig 11:49, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Edit conflict They were missing here (bolded): {{#expr:({{GEP|Plain pizza}}-({{GEP|Cheese}}+{{GEP|Pizza base}}+{{GEP|Tomato}}))/143 round 0}} 222 talk 11:54, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
You need them because otherwise the arithmetic would work like this: Cheese+Pizza base+Tomato divided by 143 and then the plain pizza algorithm would be worked out last. i.e.
  1. Cheese+Pizza base+Tomato
  2. "The above" divided by 143
  3. Then finally Plain pizza - "the above"

Okay, thanks for getting that working. Now I can get back to writing my first GEMW calculator... =D

Nubcake... 222 talk 06:31, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

If the price of the item is over 1000, you MUST do {{GEP|item|n}}. If you don't add the n, it will display the price with a comma, which will not work in expr parsers. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 03:10, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

Notification of changes to RuneScape:Off-site/RuneHead[]

Is there a way a bot or something could leave me a message on my talk page any time RuneScape:Off-site/RuneHead is changed? That will allow me to keep up with updating the name changes as people post them.--Degenret01 12:25, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

I sure can. And it doesn't do me a bit of good since I look at followed pages once am month maybe. We may get a change once a week, or maybe once a month. I want a way to stay on top of it without wasting time.--Degenret01 20:07, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Would a change of habit be easier than creating a bot script? 222 talk 08:31, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
You could try setting up a mail filter that forwards important emails to your mobile phone. I've done that for such things before. User:Kytti khat/sig 14:34, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Change of habit would be nigh impossible. How hard is a script?--Degenret01 08:39, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Do you actually use your watchlist? If not you can unfollow everything, follow just the RuneHead page (and a select few pages that you never check on your own) and then use Quarenon's watchlist notifier. It puts a message on the top of the page whenever a page on your watchlist is changed. Its not useful if you have dozens of pages on it, but if you only have a few important ones like I do, its really useful. You can find it listed here. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 08:47, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Signature sorting[]

How big a deal is the sorting of signature pages in Category:Signatures? For example, the following pages are sorted as "Sig" rather than as their respective usernames.

User:C Teng/sig
User:Coaster4321/Sig
User:Ajraddatz/sig
User:Bryanqwert/sig
User:Ssswizmig/Sig
User:Dave Lopo/Sig
User:Wargodnavkri/Sig
User:Haloolah123/Sig
User:Kuma3/sig

I noticed the error in my own signature and updated Runescape:Signatures so other people don't make the same mistake. Then I noticed that other people had already made similar errors like the ones above. Then I noticed still other people seem to have made other errors. So, as I asked to begin, how big a deal is it? It could be a lot of bookkeeping work; plus it could be a bit intrusive. Suggestions? --User:Saftzie/Signature 14:26, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Just Not that big, categories are just nice for finding stuff, just go to the pages and replace {{SUBPAGENAME}} with {{BASEPAGENAME}}. Easy as that. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 00:53, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
I haven't carefully audited all 1000 or so. The ones above were a partial list. I did a few others, too, of what were easiest to find. Hopefully no one feels like toes got squashed. --User:Saftzie/Signature 01:31, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

No problem. I only picked the lowest-hanging fruit. I noticed you did some of the ones above. Interestingly, working from a snapshot of the category page, I noticed a few people fixed their own before I got to them, too. Anyway, I don't intend to touch any others. --User:Saftzie/Signature 12:14, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Multiple accounts + Req AWB bot flag[]

Hey there, I've been temporarly locked out of my main account, User:Matthew2602, and have been using my bot account, User:M2602Bot. Though it occured to me this morning, "Hey, don't we have a policy on having two accounts?". So do we? And am I allowed to use this account?

Also, my AWB recently got activated. If you want to edit rapidly with AWB, you have to get a second account, and request bot flag for it here. Now because I have nothin to do cause I got locked out of my main account, I thought I could work on stuff in AWB with my bot. I'd have to get it flagged. So my question is, can I request bot flag at RuneScape:AutoWikiBrowser/Requests while I'm in my bot account? M2602Bot 22:45, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

To answer your question about "not allowing two accounts", see [[RS:SP]]<nowiki>. If multiple accounts are used to unfairly influence discussions, then it's a permban for both of them (well, at least that's what I would do). However, I think in your situation [[RS:UCS]] applies. Also note that on [[RS:RFAWB]], I purposely added the note that one forfeits his rights to participate in discussions on the bot account to the agreement, though I don't think you've signed it yet. Otherwise, I'd say that multiple accounts are allowed only if they're used for purposes determined valid by consensus, namely bots and AWB. All other non-main accounts should be permblocked. {{Signatures/Liquidhelium}} 23:43, September 25, 2010 (UTC) ::Okay. Custodian crown[]

Could someone make a Custodian crown, just for the sake of having one (and being consistent). 222 talk 09:06, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Cflm001 made those so you could try asking him (no edits since February so cross your fingers). Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 09:16, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

I've done it ([[File:Custodian Crown.png]]), but it's pretty ugly atm (it is an .PNG and not an SVG). I used green as a color because it was the only unused one I could think of. Quest point capeTalk Newbie856 edit count Nomad guideMusic icon 21:46, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

What colour should it have? I'm going to try to edit the Sysops crown to saying a C instead of A, but I need a colour for the background. User:TyA/sig 21:48, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Beat you at it ! Lol Quest point capeTalk Newbie856 edit count Nomad guideMusic icon 21:52, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
Bureaucrat is currently a C, presumably for 'crat. --User:Saftzie/Signature 22:00, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
...Figures. Know another letter? User:TyA/sig 22:01, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

I made Custodian crown <- That. User:TyA/sig 21:58, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Well, our current letters are A, B, C, and R for Admin, Bot, Crat, and Rollback respectively. We could always made custodian a S or T for Stodian or Todian. --LiquidTalk 22:01, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Or we could just leave it as C. I don't see it as a major problem, considering they are vastly different colours. User:Haloolah123/Sig 22:09, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
I made it with an S, but it seems Wikia's image cache problem is back despite the fact they said it would work yesterday. >.> User:TyA/sig 22:13, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
I like that crown, it's purdy, and barely reminds me of the crat crown. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 22:15, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
The "C" one. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 22:16, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

How about I for "Image-handling dude(tte)" ? I'm kidding btw, if it wasn't obvious. Quest point capeTalk Newbie856 edit count Nomad guideMusic icon 22:03, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I made one but forgot to show it. http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/6113/custodiancrown.png

It's rendered as a png right now but the svg file is sitting on my computer. I think its better as it is follows the previous designs of having the gradient darkening from left to right, also it uses Courier New font which is more symbolic of "maintenance" than the fonts used on the other crowns. 222 talk 00:43, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

A CUST is fine too. http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp104/aburnett001/cust_crown.png --Aburnett(Talk) 00:59, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

I'm still liking just plain "C" it looks better imo. User:Haloolah123/Sig 01:02, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

And heres version 2 with just a plain "C".

It's not quite perfectly aligned yet. 222 talk 01:16, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Missing files[]

These files were deleted, and were supposedly replaced by a different file. I'd like to know the file names as I cannot find them.

  • File:Hydra pouch.png
  • File:Moss titan pouch.png
  • File:Agility top.gif
  • File:Spirit terrorbird pouch.gif

There may be more, 222 talk 08:26, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

I know the last 2
But since Ajr deleted them, ask that nub. =D Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 08:36, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
This is getting out of hand, admins are mass deleting files and Wanted Files is exploding in length. The images found in the mainspace are usually dealt with, but everywhere else it's done poorly. 222 talk 08:43, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
I think it would be great if the standard practice was to include the name of the superseding file in the log entry of the deleted file. That way when we have to fix redlinks from deleted files, we don't have to search for the replacements. It's not always as obvious as replacing jpg or gif with png. --User:Saftzie/Signature 15:41, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
That's a fantastic idea and it'll make file replacement so much easier than "replaced by newer file with different file type". 222 talk 22:33, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Glow[]

Is there a glow-like background in html, like this a bit

"Hello World!"

<span style="-moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 10px red; box-shadow: 100px 0px 10px red;">"Hello World!"</span>

this is close but I want what it looks like behind the box something like this (just the "Ohaidere" part)

"Hello World!"       Ohaidere

<span style="-moz-box-shadow: 100px 0px 10px red; box-shadow: 100px 0px 10px red; -webkit-box-shadow: 100px 0px 10px red;">"Hello World!"</span> '''Ohaidere'''

I cheated by moving the "Hello World!"'s background to the right. Can anyone help? Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 02:16, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

-moz-box-shadow only works in Firefox. Use the standard box-shadow also. ShinyUnown T | C | E 01:28, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
IE can suck it imo. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 01:41, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
IE doesn't support box-shadow... ShinyUnown T | C | E 01:42, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
Well, firefox doesn't and IE doesn't (IE can still suck it all the same), then what does? Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 01:49, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
WebKit browsers. Safari and Chrome. ShinyUnown T | C | E 01:50, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

-webkit-box-shadow is deprecated. ShinyUnown T | C | E 01:55, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
Fine, still means IE does none. But more to the whole point, can you help? Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 02:00, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
*facepalm* I'm a complete idiot. box-shadow isn't supported in WebKit browsers. Uh, how many cookies do I owe you?
I've added -webkit-box-shadow and now I see it. Unfortunately the only way I know of achieving a similar effect is to use a div with gradients. (Not the gradient class.) I'll give you an example later. ShinyUnown T | C | E 17:00, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

A Question[]

How does one make an image from photobucket a link to a wiki page, specifically in a signature? Thank you. http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af290/porp109/sig1.png Spam me w/ lolcatsPottery statuette detail Is <insert name here> awesome? I don't know, let me check... 01:32, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Just use the URL with no []. However MediaWiki does not support resizing images imported from other sites. So if that's your real question, it has to be the right size on the other site. --User:Saftzie/Signature 07:46, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
No, you can use this template. It allows a degree of control over external images, including the size. 222 talk 09:21, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Tricky, but really the template generates HTML to get the user's browser to resize the image. Mediawiki still just passes the URL along unmolested. --User:Saftzie/Signature 14:42, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
