Note to users: Remove requests once they have been fully dealt with. Archive those that have a notable discussion.

Welcome to the RuneScape Wiki User Help page. This page is here to offer a central location for those who are participating with the development of this wiki to make general requests for help. For admin help, go here.

What this page is for
  • Coding help. Requesting help with writing templates, making a nice user page, or any questions on writing wiki-code can be asked here and users will help to the best of their ability.
  • Requests for non-administrative actions. If help is required with an action (such as moving a page), asking users here for help with that action is acceptable.
  • Questions on how the wiki works. All the policies and processes in use on the RuneScape Wiki may seem a little overwhelming at first. If you need help in understanding any of the policies, or more in depth instructions on a process, asking here is a good start.
  • Other questions to the users of the wiki. - While the Yew Grove is often a better place, a simple question may be asked here for a quick response.
  • An all-in-one place to put things. Many of the Wiki's procedures are lesser-known, so putting a note here is a good way to do something if the correct procedure is not known.
What this page is not for
  • Requests for actions involving administrator tools. Please use Admin requests for such requests.
  • Larger discussion with other users on policies or other wide-ranging actions. The Yew Grove is a more suitable location to discuss larger changes to the Wiki's policies, procedures and high-use templates.
  • General chat (about RuneScape or not). General chat about RuneScape (or an off-topic subject) should be taken to individual user talk pages, or article talk pages when applicable.

What does it mean

Hey, could someone help me finding out what the 4 numbers at the end of http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100808150443/runescape/images/thumb/8/87/Bucket_detail.png/82px-135,578,0,442-Bucket_detail.png mean? I tried some things out, ant it looks like:

  • The first one enlarges to the left, and lets any parts of the image fall off as far as the limited width(how is this set?)
  • The second one does the same, but to the right
  • The third one moves the total image up, letting the parts at the top fall off
  • The fourth one cuts the amount of pixels off the bottom.
  • The parameters need other parameters to be filled in (other than 0) to work

I totally don't get anything else than this, so could someone please test some things out and tell me how it works? It would make a Treasure Trail locator possible, so this is quite important. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 09:51, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Daemonheim drop logs

Pursuant to Forum:Daemonheim monster drop tables, we should put those on pages. Someone with the AWB knowledge and the time to do this would be greatly appreciated. --LiquidTalk 23:52, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Centre (scroll) clicking on images

It appears that Wikia have changed what happens when you left-click, centre (scroll) click and right-click on files to make them more "idiotproof" and more non-editor friendly, unfortunately it doesn't help me, an editor. What I would like is some way to change centre clicks so it points back to the file page (e.g. File:Cake.png) instead of the image page (i.e. Long link). Thanks, 222 talk 07:57, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

One way is clicking it, then clicking to see full image in the lightbox. another way is turning off JS(probably not what you were looking for, but it might help making a code that turns all JS off for the tags <img>) and another way is changing to another skin Wink. I do agree the link should lead to the file page instead. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 10:35, February 16, 2011 (UTC)
That's what I already do... I don't want to have to click and get a useless lightbox and click again. 222 talk 05:23, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
Like two months ago I noticed this and asked Wikia if it was a bug or not. They said that it was a side effect of some changes and that they were working to fix it. I can forward you the email if you want. Template:Signatures/Rsa23899 17:53, February 20, 2011 (UTC)
I sent them an email as well, and received essentially the same answer. 222 talk 08:19, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Comment - Technical roundup already talked about this almost a month ago. It's for SEO for the webcrawlers like Google. Ryan PM 15:40, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

And is there any solution to add to your personal JS file so this gets fixed? JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 11:40, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

Moving an image filename

Hi,

How do you move an image file? (change its filename)

I would like to rename this file to octagon_of_fire.png: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/File:Octogon_of_fire.PNG?cb=6666
