RuneScape Wiki

New users are constantly joining the wiki, creating accounts, and beginning what we hope to be long and fulfilling terms as editors. The world of wikis can be a harrowing, confusing place for someone who has never contributed before, and having someone show them their first steps can be a lifesaver.

There are many editors who take it upon themselves to steer these up-and-coming contributors in the right direction. These users do so by adding {{subst:Welcome}} ~~~~ to the talk pages of new users. This automatically adds the welcome template to their page, as well as your name and the date. By helping to welcome new users, you are assisting in the growth and expansion of the RuneScape Wiki!

Note: We ask that you please use the subst: function, as this makes the welcome more personal to the new user.
