This article is about the 2015 journal. For the 2014 one, see RuneScape Road Trip journal (2014).

The RuneScape Road Trip journal is an item given by Challenge Mistress Fara during the RuneScape Road Trip event that was active throughout May 2015. The journal contains a list of tasks that can be completed at the rate of one task per day, unless a JMod stamps the journal or provides the player with a chit so that an extra task can be finished daily.

For the 2015 event, there is a task list, which rewards the player with a RuneScape Road Trip lamp for each task completed; a list of rewards corresponding to each type of task, including the compass pieces and the Explorer's aura; and an information tab giving information that includes the worlds and times that the JMod clones would appear to give away a daily chit.

There are 20 tasks arranged into 4 categories: Skilling, Combat, Social/Minigame, and Miscellaneous. When a task is completed, the text of that task turns green and a progress bar for that category advances on the Rewards tab. Upon completing his or her first category, the player receives a compass piece and a tier 1 Explorer's aura. Another compass piece is awarded for completing each of the remaining categories of tasks; when the player has all four pieces, they may be combined into a compass that leads the player to a companion pet and large explorer's lamp. Also, completion of each category upgrades the Explorer's aura to a higher tier, making it last longer. Pieces of the Hiker outfit will also be rewarded to those players who did not claim them the previous year.

At four hour intervals throughout the day, a JMod clone appears at Lumbridge crater on certain worlds to give nearby players a chit, which is used to skip a task. The player may receive one chit a day. Selecting a task and clicking the yellow Skip This Task button in the task tab will allow the player to skip the task while still giving them the appropriate reward.

Trivia[]

  • Finishing a task in the wilderness, in the Dungeoneering task, or with a full inventory will not allow the lamp to appear in your inventory and instead give the message: You have been given a reward lamp, but you cannot collect it now.
It can be recovered from Challenge Mistress Fara in Burthorpe.
  • Its appearance is the same as the reward book.
