A rune helm (h1) is a helmet obtained from level 3 Treasure Trails or bought from other players. It cannot be made using the smithing skill. It has the same bonuses as a rune full helm, but looks different then the normal helm and usually is slightly more expensive and has a lower supply and demand. It requires 50 defence to wear.
