Runite bolts are the strongest non-gem-tipped metal crossbow bolts.

Runite bolts may be tipped with dragonstone or onyx. To tip the bolts with dragonstone, a player must have a Fletching level of 71 and use dragon bolt tips with the runite bolts, granting 8.2 Fletching experience for each dragonstone bolt tip attached and making the runite bolts into dragon bolts. To tip the bolts with onyx, a player must have a Fletching level of 73 and use onyx bolt tips with the runite bolts, granting 9.4 Fletching experience for each onyx bolt tip attached and making the runite bolts into onyx bolts. Onyx bolt tips can be obtained from killing the TzHaar, Queen Black Dragon, as well as level 4 clue scrolls.

A couple of alternatives for their use are broad-tipped bolts, which require level 55 Slayer; and kebbit bolts, which may only be used with the Hunter's crossbow.
