Sacred oil is the major reward from the Temple Repair activity in Mort'ton. It is a critical link in the chain of steps required to burn shade remains and vyre corpses. It is made by using olive oil on the lit fire altar, which is located in the centre of the temple north of Mort'ton in Morytania. The fire altar can only be lit when the temple is completely repaired. Players must have a sanctity% higher than 10% in order to bless an olive oil, and doing so will 'use' some sanctity. Each dose of sacred oil uses roughly 0.9% sanctity, so a sacred oil(4) will use 3.6% each. The Sacred Oil can be used with most kinds of logs in order to make Pyre logs. As burning shades can be very lucrative and provides experience in prayer, Sacred oil is very valuable. Sacred oil is only obtainable after starting the Shades of Mort'ton quest. Sacred oil and olive oil cannot be consumed by a player, so the player does not need to worry about accidentally 'drinking' their oil if they wish to combine them.

Since it is so sought after, trading or selling sacred oil may be a good way to make money as olive oil is comparatively very cheap.
