The Shard of Zaros is a pocket slot item obtained after completing the quest Fate of the Gods. When worn, it prevents aggression from all monsters in the God Wars Dungeon, including the Zarosian followers, but excluding the monsters found in the boss rooms. This unique effect makes it the most extensive and also most space-efficient method for protecting yourself from follower aggression within the dungeon, even from the followers of Nex. This item also makes Bladed, Force, and Throwing Muspahs in Mother Mah's Cradle non-aggressive.

Although the shard keeps all factions from attacking in GWD, players must still get the requisite kill count (or wear Ancient ceremonial robes for Nex) to enter the boss chambers.

Using the shard on the memoriam device in the sanctum on Freneskae allows you to talk to Zaros. It is the same dialogue as when you talk to him during the quest. If you right click Zaros you also have the option to view the cutscene where he creates his new body again.
