If you destroy this, you can find it again in the memoriam reader in Zaros's Sanctum in Freneskae.

The Shard of Zaros is a pocket slot item obtained after completing the quest Fate of the Gods. When worn, it prevents aggression from all monsters in the God Wars Dungeon, including the Zarosian followers, but excluding the monsters found in the boss rooms. This unique effect makes it the most extensive and also most space-efficient method for protecting yourself from follower aggression within the dungeon, even from the Zarosian faction. This item also makes Bladed, Force, and Throwing Muspahs in Mah's Cradle and Nihil in Mah's Pit non-aggressive.

Also, the shard counts as a god item for all altars in the boss rooms of the God Wars Dungeon, and will grant a +10 prayer point restore when they are used to restore points.

Although the shard keeps all factions from attacking in the God Wars Dungeon, players must still get the requisite kill count (or wear Ancient ceremonial robes for Nex) to enter the boss chambers.

Using the shard on the memoriam device in the sanctum on Freneskae allows the player to talk to Zaros. The questions the player can ask are identical to the ones available during the quest, but some of Zaros' dialogue will be different. Right-clicking Zaros will give the player the option to review cutscenes.

Using the shard on Seren in Prifddinas will reveal some unique dialogue.

If destroyed, go to the World Gate, Quick Dial to Freneskae, and select Sanctum, then activate the Memorial device in the middle of the floor to retrieve the Shard of Zaros.

It may also be retrieved from the Storage Chest at May's Quest Caravan if the player has unlocked Quest Item Storage from the Hub Track.

Trivia

Before an update, using the shard on a POH armour stand will prompt the repair message if other Nex or Ascension items are in your inventory. While the shard itself cannot be repaired, it has a known repair value of 1 coin.
