A Longbow sight is an item bought from the rewards trader in Daemonheim for 10,000 Dungeoneering tokens. It is a sight that attaches to either a Maple longbow (with 45 Ranged and 45 Dungeoneering) or a Magic longbow (with 55 Ranged and 45 Dungeoneering) turning them into either a Maple longbow (sighted) or Magic longbow (sighted). The Maple longbow's ranged attack bonus is increased from +29 to +110 (3.79x) and the Magic Longbow's is increased from +69 to +140 (2.03x), a greater bonus than the dark bow. The Longbow sight may be detached and reattached as many times as required without cost on any Maple or Magic longbow.

Notes

  • Prior to 15 April 2010, the longbow sight was indicated under RuneScape's manual as having a dungeoneering requirement of 30 to install, yet within the game itself, it is 45.
  • When the longbow sight was released it cost 45k tokens to buy and required 45 Dungeoneering to install, but players needed to get at least 65 Dungeoneering in order to have enough tokens to buy it. At its current cost of 10k tokens, it still requires at least level 50 to purchase.

The Items Kept on Death interface values this item at 5000gp.

  • Unlike the gem bag and coal bag, you may own more than one longbow sight.
  • When used on a dark bow, no message is shown, not even "Nothing interesting happens". In addition, if it is used with any bow other than a maple or magic longbow in an area such as a bank, it says, "You can'tlight a fire here.", instead of the previous message. This lack of a message is likely due to the Dark Bow's inability to light logs on fire after barbarian training.
  • You cannot make fires with sighted bows.
  • You can dismantle a sight and attach it anytime, similar to godsword hilts.
  • There is a common misconception that this item can be reattained from the rewards trader if lost on death with no additional cost. This is not true however, like all dungeoneering items, a player must spend the same amount of tokens to get it back.
