Sister Esther

Sister Esther was a novice nun from the Abbey of St. Elspeth Citharede near Al Kharid, who joined the following of Saint Elspeth some time after the incident with Sister Anna in 168 of the Fifth Age. She was kidnapped by a Kinshra raiding party, along with Sister Lara and Fathers McGruder and Hackett from the Edgeville Monastery, on orders of the witch Lensig, then disguised as Captain Dulcin, to be sacrificed in the Tomb of the Fallen so that their virtuous blood could breach the final ward guarding the Wand of Resurrection.

While her blood may have been virtuous enough, it was given involuntarily, for Esther and the others had been starved into giving their blood. As such, it was not accepted and the protective ward reduced her hands to stumps, killing her.
