Slayer points are a currency obtained by completing Slayer assignments or a special challenge from any Slayer Master bar Turael and Spria, or by trading in completed Tuska masks. The number rewarded depends on the Slayer Master, with the tougher masters awarding more points. Completion of Smoking Kills will double the value of the points received.
The maximum number of slayer points a player can have at once is 64,000, however it is not a hard cap. If a player completes a task with 63,999 points they will receive the entirety of the points from that task and Tuska masks can still be traded in for 20 points each after the 64,000 points have been obtained.
Obtaining points[]
There are several ways of obtaining Slayer points: completing Slayer assignments, Slayer challenges, completing contracts on the Arc assigned by Ling, handing in completed Tuska masks, and opening the raptor chest.
Assignments[]
The points listed below are the full points per task, for which completion of the Smoking Kills quest is required. Before then, players will only receive half the listed points.
A minimum of five tasks must be completed before points are awarded. Every tenth task awards five times the value of the rewarded points, with every 50th awarding fifteen times the value of the points. Elite Karamja Tasks could boost the amount of slayer points a bit but depend on taking more tasks from Duradel or Lapalok which might not be recommended at higher Slayer levels. Changing tasks at Turael or Spria resets the number of completed tasks to 0.
Slayer Master | Points per task | Points per 10th task | Points per 50th task | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Turael or Spria | 0 | 0 | 0 | These Slayer masters will never award Slayer points and assignments will not contribute to completion streak. Cancelling a task to receive an easier one will reset the player's current completion streak to 0; However, completion streak will remain the same after accepting and completing a new task from these masters, as long as the previous task was completed and not cancelled. |
Mazchna or Achtryn | 2 | 10 | 30 | Mazchna's tasks are easy and fast, and can be used to complete the first four tasks and quickly begin earning points. |
Vannaka | 4 | 20 | 60 | Vannaka gives more experience per task than Mazchna or Achtryn. |
Chaeldar | 10 | 50 | 150 | Chaeldar provides better experience and more Slayer points than Vannaka, despite taking longer to complete, as it can accumulate to more experience and points over a period of time. |
Sumona | 12 | 60 | 180 | Sumona's tasks are very similar to Duradel's, though usually in lower quantities of monsters set. Sumona is best used by players who lack the combat and/or Slayer level to use Duradel. |
Duradel or Lapalok | 15 | 75 (80 after Elite Karamja Tasks) | 225 | These masters are recommended for point-earning tasks, due to the comparatively high number of points received upon completing their tasks. |
Kuradal | 18 | 90 | 270 | Like Duradel or Lapalok, she is recommended for point-earning tasks, due to the comparatively high number of points received upon completing them. She requires 75 Slayer to use and should be used if the player cannot access Morvran. |
Morvran | 20 | 100 | 300 | Like his predecessors listed above, he is recommended for point-earning tasks, due to the high number of points received from them. You should always use Morvran for point-earning tasks with 85 Slayer and completion of Plague's End. |
Challenges[]
Slayer challenges are sometimes given to players by Slayer Masters. They award the normal number of Slayer points (the number that would have been given if it was a task) plus bonus Slayer points and Slayer experience.
Slayer Master | Additional Slayer points awarded |
---|---|
Turael or Spria | 0 |
Mazchna or Achtryn | 3 |
Vannaka | 6 |
Chaeldar | 25 |
Sumona | 30 |
Duradel or Lapalok | 35 |
Kuradal | 0[note 1] |
Morvran | 45 |
- ^ Although Kuradal doesn't give bonus slayer points, the challenge will still count as a normal task, and you will be rewarded accordingly.
Contracts[]
Up to 8 Slayer points may be obtained per contract assigned by Ling that is completed on the Arc.
Tuska masks[]
Tuska masks, obtained by slaying airuts (requiring 92 Slayer and a task to get its parts) can be handed into any Slayer Master for 20 Slayer points per mask.
Raptor Chest[]
The Raptor key, its parts obtained by killing four different level 96 Slayer monsters (Wyverns, Ripper Demons, Camel Warriors and Acheron mammoths) can be used to open the Raptor Chest near Burthorpe's bank. The player gets 375 slayer points each time they open the chest.
Rewards[]
There are a variety of rewards which can be purchased using Slayer points, including learning how to craft Slayer equipment and gaining various Slayer-related abilities.
Having unlocked all abilities to craft Slayer items and the ability to deliver killing blows quicker is a requirement needed to get a trimmed completionist cape.
Once the helm upgrades have been purchased, any subsequent purchases of the upgrades are reduced to 10% of the original cost.
Slayer points can also be used to purchase certain rewards from Death's Store.

The ring can also be used for checking the progress of your Slayer assignment - this uses no charges. |
Ability to deliver killing blows quicker. | 400 | Monsters which require a finishing blow to kill, such as rock slugs, desert lizards, zygomites and gargoyles will die when they reach zero life points like normal monsters, as long as the item required to kill them is in the player's inventory or tool belt. This ability functions with ranged and magic attacks; the player does not need to be positioned adjacent to the monster to activate the finishing blow effect.
This ability does not work when using experimental fungicide during Chaeldar's challenge. The item may still be used to kill a monster slightly above zero life points as before. It is stated in-game that 75 Slayer is required for this ability, but neither purchasing it or using it actually requires the stated level. |
Ability to craft Slayer helmets. | 400 | Level 55 Crafting and completion of Smoking Kills is required to craft Slayer helmets. A Slayer helmet is crafted from an uncharged black mask, a spiny helmet, a facemask, a nose peg and a pair of earmuffs. The Slayer helmet gives all the benefits of the aforementioned items, and defence bonuses comparable to an iron full helm. Once created, the Slayer helmet can be dismantled at any time, giving all the materials used in its construction. A hexcrest and a focus sight can be added to the slayer helm to make a full slayer helmet. |
Learn how to fuse rings to full slayer helmets | 500 50 |
Level 60 Crafting and Smoking Kills is required for this. Players who purchase this ability can add up to five fully charged rings of slaying (40 teleports) and up to six fully charged ferocious rings (30 teleports) to any full slayer helmet variant to gain access to their teleports. The number of rings a player can fuse to it depends on the tier of the helm.
Players can recharge the teleports by fusing more rings, or by paying 5 co-op slayer points. The helm does not gain the ring of life property of the ferocious ring, and already has the non-teleport properties of a ring of slaying. Fused slayer helmets benefit from the ferocious ring damage boost. |

Assignment[]
Item | Points cost | Notes |
---|---|---|
Cancel task | 30 | Skips the player's current assignment without penalties—four more assignments will not need to be completed for the player to start earning points again.
If tasks are not from Chaeldar, Sumona, Duradel, Kuradal or Morvran, this is not worth buying, unless you are near a 10th or 50th task. It would take a minimum of two tasks from Duradel or Kuradal and three from Chaeldar or Sumona to regain the points used in buying this service. |
Block task | 100 | Skips the player's current assignment without penalties and permanently removes the assignment from the player's task list - the player will not be assigned that monster again. There is a maximum limit of 7 types of assignments that can be cancelled on one account - one for every 50 quest points up to a maximum of 350 quest points. Cancelling the removal of monsters allows the monster to be assigned again, but does not refund points spent removing the monster. |
Extend task | 30 | Extends the player's number of monsters to kill on that task by 20% (e.g.,180 Nihil would be 216 instead). While this can be used at any point during the task, the 20% is still based on the initial number of monsters. It does not provide extra slayer points, compared to boss slayer. |
Prefer task | 100 | Extends the player's current assignment automatically and approximately doubles[3] the chance for the assignment to appear as a task in the future. There is a maximum limit of 7 types of assignments that can be preferred on one account - one for every 50 quest points up to a maximum of 350 quest points. Cancelling a preferred task does not refund points spent preferring the monster. |
- ^ A quantity of 250 if the player's slayer level is 35 or higher. If the player's level is less than 5 the player will obtain 50. If higher than 5 but lower than 15, 100. If higher than 15 but lower than 25, 150. If higher than 25 but lower than 35, 200.
- ^ a b c d e f After buying the option to be assigned this monster, you can always go back to any slayer master to toggle this task off through the rewards interface.
- ^ Jagex. Mod Rowley's Twitter account. 26 Sep 2014. Mod Rowley: "Preferred Slayer tasks = a silent, second random roll. If either task is on your prefer list, that's what you get (bias towards first roll). Once normal and prefer roll is decided, [if] you have a VIP ticket, you get the choice between that roll and a third roll."

Trivia[]
- Originally, Smoking Kills was required to obtain points. This was removed in January 2014 as part of a rework of the Slayer skill. Some confusion arose, causing Jagex to clarify that the quest would be required to obtain full points.[1]
