A small cast net is a reward for completing the quest Deadliest Catch, along with the big cast net. It is a wieldable version of the small fishing net – it has the same function as a small fishing net while fishing or hunting (with a rope as usual), but allows an extra inventory space when fishing. Players are able to get multiple nets from Jones the fisherman without employing the drop trick. It is wielded in the off-hand slot. It, as well as the big cast net can be stored inside tackle boxes from Fish Flingers.
Due to the release of the tool belt, small and large cast nets became functionally useless, though they may still be used for aesthetic reasons.
