Spectral vyrewatch are deceased Vyrewatch that have been released from the curse of Lord Drakan. Players cremate Vyre corpses in the Columbarium after completing the Legacy of Seergaze quest in order to free them. Their examine information is, 'The graceful transition of a troubled spirit to a peaceful end.'
The Spectral vyrewatch rise from the burnt remains much in the same manner as Shades do when burned in Mort'ton.

- A number of players have also noted the striking resemblance to the Mursaat, an evil race in the MMORPG Guild Wars.
- Others note that Vyrewatch may have once been Icyene.
- Treus Dayth looks remarkably like a spectral vyrewatch, making it likely that he was one himself but appears different due to an unrestful death.
