Stalagmites are a rock formation that can only be mined by players with 60 Mining during the Lunar Diplomacy quest. They are located in the western part of the dungeon in north-east Lunar Isle where a rune essence rock may also be found. Players are permitted only one lunar ore at a time; if the player attempts to mine more than one, they will receive the message, "You already have some special ore - you don't need any more."

The ore is destroyed immediately if dropped, so a player cannot duplicate the ore with the drop trick. It can be smelted into a lunar bar through the Smithing skill and then made into a lunar helm. Other than that, the ore has no other use. It has the same colour as a silver ore and runite ore put together.
