The steel full helm is the third weakest full helm in RuneScape. The steel full helm grants greater defensive bonuses than its medium helmet counterpart, though at a cost of offensive bonuses for Range and Magic. To wear this helmet the player needs at least 20 Defence.
Members with 38 Crafting can use a steel full helmet on a pluming stand to make a steel heraldic helm, a steel full helm designed in the colours of the player's family crest. Family crests are obtained from Sir Renitee in Falador Castle.

Trivia[]
- On 1 July 2008, when Jagex released the HD Beta, all full helmets, excluding the Black full helmet, had a red trim applied to the plume on the low detailed version, similar to a Zamorak full helm. This was to celebrate Canada Day. This was then taken away the next day.
- This helmet shares its stats with quite some other helmets, including the spiny helmet, spiked helmet and Tyras helm.
- On 31 January, 2012, a graphical update changed the looks of steel equipment except for steel heraldic helms.
