The steel platebody is the third-weakest standard platebody for free-to-play players. They require a Defence level of 20 to equip. They provide decent defence against ranged attacks, but are vulnerable to magic attacks, as with all platebodies.

A steel platebody is needed to make a steel titan pouch, a Summoning familiar which requires the player to have 99 Summoning. They are also used in level 1 and 2 clue scrolls.

A steel platebody respawns in level 43 Wilderness, near the 2 lesser demons guarding the chest in the Lava Maze.
