Nex, currently the strongest monster in RuneScape.
The Strongest monster in RuneScape (based on combat level) is currently the level 1001 Nex. Although the Ferret of Doom is level 9001, it is not included as it is not attackable conventionally and is likely due to Thok having a phobia of ferrets. (Usually, if something cannot be fought at all, Jagex doesn't put up a combat level)

- The Evil chicken CAN appear as random event, but can not be fought. It can be randomly encountered in various chicken farms throughout Gielinor, provoking other chickens to fight against their human masters.
- The list does not include Dungeoneering bosses.
- The level 752 Spirit Beast, level 750/800 Lucien and 9001 Ferret of Doom are not included in this list because they are not fought by conventional methods.
- The list does not include limited-release monsters: the level 654 Hati and level 562 WildyWyrm.
- An all encompassing list would be levels: 9001, 1001, 800, 785, 752, 750, 750, 717, 717, 703, 702.
