The superior log-splitting scrimshaw is an item that can be made within a players' port workshop at level 85 Fletching once all 4 scroll pieces of Log Splitting have been obtained in the Player-owned port minigame.

The scrimshaw can be activated on and off for a total of 4 hours after which it degrades to dust.

It requires level 80 Woodcutting to use. When the scrimshaw is active, there is a 20% chance of destroying a log as it is cut, granting Woodcutting experience equivalent to a proportion of the experience gained when Woodcutting a log normally along with the chat message: "Your log-splitting scrimshaw destroys the log and converts it into additional Woodcutting xp."

Depending on your Woodcutting level, you could expect up to 10K XP/hr increase if cutting Arctic Pines and 20K XP/hr increase if cutting Acadia trees.

Crystallise spell does not work with the scrimshaw. Logs destroyed do not count towards a daily challenge.
