Plank Make + Orts

So, atm, I have made 100k Magic xp and I did not get 1 ort. Can someone try it please? I don't think we get some from Plank Make, it may be a bug. User:Jr Mime/Signature 14:56, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

I've gotten almost 100k agility exp at Advanced Gnome Agility Course, I've gotten no orts.

Adding to drop tables

I'm going to assume that a few hundreds of monsters do drop them and most likely commonly so if you come across a monster that needs it use: {{subst:OrtDrop}}

for example: {{DropsTableHead}} {{DropsLine|Name=Bones|Quantity=2|Rarity=Common}} {{subst:OrtDrop}} {{DropsLine|Name=Pure essence|Quantity=3-16 (noted)|Rarity=Common}} This will automatically add it in with all that "image=" crap.

If the ort is not common from every monster as I've assumed, then do {{subst:OrtDrop|rarity=Insert Rarity Here}} ; e.g. if it was uncommon you'd type {{subst:OrtDrop|rarity=Uncommon}} MolMan 01:12, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

It seems most monsters drop 20 at a time, for any monster that drops a different quantity use: {{subst:OrtDrop|quantity=Insert # Here}} ; e.g. if it was 40 you'd type {{subst:OrtDrop|quantity=40}}

Amended to reflect changes that should have been there in the first place. The default (empty parameters) is a quantity of 20 and a rarity of common. MolMan 03:00, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Just thought I would let you guys know that I did recieve some orts for making potion flasks. In your trivia section it said that you don't recieve any for making flasks so thought I would give you the heads up so you could change it.

Missed Drops

I had some skilling and only picked up a dozen or so, then left any further ones that fell on the floor. Later doing some slaying I picked up enough to get to the 200 cap. So it would seem a left drop does not count, can someone else confirm this?

Anagogic drop theory

I found out how the anagogic orts are dropped: they are always dropped with drops affected by the ring of wealth, including rare drop table drops, but with an exception for clues. This is based while I was on a slayer task at lighthouse dagannoths. Seeds were always dropped with anagogic orts, and uncut sapphires etc. as well. Can anyone else confirm? I highly doubt this is true. It would be incredibly unusual for Jagex to give the Ring of wealth the ability to affect the drop rates of the Anagogic ort (an item not everyone can get), let alone link them to other drops on the Rare drop table. I'm slaying steel dragons right now. I've had two ort drops this first trip; one was with a nature talisman drop, the other with a dragon dagger. Those are the only ort drops I've had this trip, and also the only two rdt drops. So Flamingo's theory appears to hold some water. Of course this doesn't explain the monsters that don't have access to the rdt but still drop orts, such as grifolapines. AnselaJonla 09:29, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

@Ryan: it's not about the ring of wealth affecting the drop rate of orts, but the way they are dropped. And why would it be that unusual? I'd say: get on a slayer task with the ring of wealth equipped, and see what is dropped with the orts.

Not always; I only got herbs or seeds with my ort drops when fighting grifolapines, which don't have rdt access. AnselaJonla 14:50, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

I just finished 193 aquanites for a slayer task, and I got orts at least one in ten kills. I also got very few or no RDT drops. FiendOfLight (talk) 14:34, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

I only got orts with charms while killing Shadow warriors

Every drop of orts I've had at ganodermic beasts was droped along with a rdt drop, similar to how 200 coins is always dropped with 5 magic logs at ice styrkeswyrms. So orts may be tied to the rdt, but not necessarily limited to it. mass choas 03:11, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Drop Rates May Change

I think that the drop rates for the Anagogic ort may have been changed by Jagex and may continue to be changed. Today I've gotten Anagogic orts in larger quantities at a time than I was getting yesterday. I noticed this while siphoning Soul Esswraiths and various nodes in Runespan. I'm about 95% sure I just got 60 orts at once from an Aberrant Spectre, there were none already underneath it when it died, so maybe this is true? Faintish (talk) 00:53, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Queries

1. I have 593, will I get the odd 7 as a drop, or will I need to skill?
   • Yes the odd 7 will come as a drop. Or to be more precise you will only be able to pick up 7 of the next drop, leaving the rest un-pick-upable "You've already reached your ort daily limit."
2. If you destroy ort do you get more drops?

I just received 60 orts from a Cave Horror. For the rest I've always received 20 orts from the cave horrors. So, I bet 60 Anagogic Orts is a drop from the Rare Drop Table.

Not getting orts from making flatpacks

I was making some mahogany costume boxes for a daily challenge today, and I wasn't getting any orts while I made 240 flatpacks. I was getting some orts before at Seren stones, and I was getting orts later on (before reset) while crafting some runes. I think that sitting on the chair in your house's workbech might keep the orts from dropping. --Feenix Libra (talk) 22:37, March 20, 2017 (UTC)
