Plank Make + Orts

So, atm, I have made 100k Magic xp and I did not get 1 ort. Can someone try it please? I don't think we get some from Plank Make, it may be a bug. Template:Signatures/Jr Mime 14:56, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

im grtting orts by chopping down maples.

I've gotten almost 100k agility exp at Advanced Gnome Agility Course, I've gotten no orts.

It seems like some monsters / skilling do, but some don't. We should list them as soon as we get enough information to do so. Template:Signatures/Jr Mime 15:21, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

The orts CAN be recieved from making potion flasks, i got 2 earlier from blowing robust glass. Pinkiie Pie (talk) 16:18, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

Killed about 30 Living Rock Creatures, no ort. So I'm pretty sure they don't drop them. -- Recent uploads SpineTalkGuest book 19:51, August 14, 2012 (UTC)
Spent around half an hour firemaking and, considering the speed at which they come in other skills, I'm pretty sure you can't get them via firemaking Sundays211 (talk) 04:54, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

Adding to drop tables

I'm going to assume that a few hundreds of monsters do drop them and most likely commonly so if you come across a monster that needs it use: {{subst:OrtDrop}}

for example: {{DropsTableHead}} {{DropsLine|Name=Bones|Quantity=2|Rarity=Common}} {{subst:OrtDrop}} {{DropsLine|Name=Pure essence|Quantity=3-16 (noted)|Rarity=Common}} This will automatically add it in with all that "image=" crap.

If the ort is not common from every monster as I've assumed, then do {{subst:OrtDrop|rarity=Insert Rarity Here}} ; e.g. if it was uncommon you'd type {{subst:OrtDrop|rarity=Uncommon}} MolMan 01:12, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

It seems most monsters drop 20 at a time, for any monster that drops a different quantity use: {{subst:OrtDrop|quantity=Insert # Here}} ; e.g. if it was 40 you'd type {{subst:OrtDrop|quantity=40}}

Amended to reflect changes that should have been there in the first place. The default (empty parameters) is a quantity of 20 and a rarity of common. MolMan 03:00, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Another update - added a Rarity notes, don't forget to include <references/> at the bottom of the drop table when you substitute this template now. THIS MUST BE ADDED IF NOT ALREADY THERE MolMan 21:22, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

Flasks

Just thought I would let you guys know that I did recieve some orts for making potion flasks. In your trivia section it said that you don't recieve any for making flasks so thought I would give you the heads up so you could change it.

Missed Drops

I had some skilling and only picked up a dozen or so, then left any further ones that fell on the floor. Later doing some slaying I picked up enough to get to the 200 cap. So it would seem a left drop does not count, can someone else confirm this?

Well if you don't pick them up then you don't have them, do you? So obviously they don't count. Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 22:30, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

Anagogic drop theory

I found out how the anagogic orts are dropped: they are always dropped with drops affected by the ring of wealth, including rare drop table drops, but with an exception for clues. This is based while I was on a slayer task at lighthouse dagannoths. Seeds were always dropped with anagogic orts, and uncut sapphires etc. as well. Can anyone else confirm? El Flamingo (talk) 23:57, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

I highly doubt this is true. It would be incredibly unusual for Jagex to give the Ring of wealth the ability to affect the drop rates of the Anagogic ort (an item not everyone can get), let alone link them to other drops on the Rare drop table. Keep in mind, also, that you can get them from skilling. https://i.imgur.com/Om8N4.png>>>TalkHS[[Special:Chat|<span style="color:black">Chat</span>]]<<< 00:23, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
I'm slaying steel dragons right now. I've had two ort drops this first trip; one was with a nature talisman drop, the other with a dragon dagger. Those are the only ort drops I've had this trip, and also the only two rdt drops. So Flamingo's theory appears to hold some water. Of course this doesn't explain the monsters that don't have access to the rdt but still drop orts, such as grifolapines. Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 09:29, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
@Ryan: it's not about the ring of wealth affecting the drop rate of orts, but the way they are dropped. And why would it be that unusual? I'd say: get on a slayer task with the ring of wealth equipped, and see what is dropped with the orts.
Further theory: I've also seen that herbs and seed drops are always going with orts.El Flamingo (talk) 12:45, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Not always; I only got herbs or seeds with my ort drops when fighting grifolapines, which don't have rdt access. Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 14:50, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
I just finished 193 aquanites for a slayer task, and I got orts at least one in ten kills. I also got very few or no RDT drops. FiendOfLight (talk) 14:34, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Aquanites do not have rdt access, which is why you weren't getting drops from it. Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 14:50, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
I only got orts with charms while killing Shadow warriors

Drop Rates May Change

I think that the drop rates for the Anagogic ort may have been changed by Jagex and may continue to be changed. Today I've gotten Anagogic orts in larger quantities at a time than I was getting yesterday. I noticed this while siphoning Soul Esswraiths and various nodes in Runespan. I MIGHT be wrong, so keep a look out! https://i.imgur.com/Om8N4.png>>>TalkHS[[Special:Chat|<span style="color:black">Chat</span>]]<<< 00:31, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

I'm about 95% sure I just got 60 orts at once from an Aberrant Spectre, there were none already underneath it when it died, so maybe this is true? Faintish (talk) 00:53, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

They stack up. Template:Signatures/Jr Mime 00:54, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Hence why I made a point as to say there were none underneath it prior to dying. Faintish (talk)

Queries

  1. I have 593, will I get the odd 7 as a drop, or will I need to skill?
    • Yes the odd 7 will come as a drop. Or to be more precise you will only be able to pick up 7 of the next drop, leaving the rest un-pick-upable "You've already reached your ort daily limit."
  2. If you destroy ort do you get more drops?
    • I'm unsure of this, but it would seem incredibly counterproductive to destroy orts just to get more, wouldn't it? 98.249.218.100 02:29, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

Rich Farmbrough, 01:51 16 August 2012 (UTC).

1. At risk of sounding uninformed, what exactly is Anagogic ort for?

You feed them to your clan avatar so that its buffs affect you, or to heal it. Being uninformed is fine, but doesn't the article you're discussing mention this? 98.249.218.100 02:29, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

60 Orts

I just received 60 orts from a Cave Horror. For the rest I've always received 20 orts from the cave horrors. So, I bet 60 Anagogic Orts is a drop from the Rare Drop Table.
