Are you sure goblins (specifically the level 3's as stated on the page) drop these? It seems very unlikely, as everything else listed is of high level. Super adm 09:04, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Aesthetics

For the "Monsters" section, should the monster names be capitalized as such "Aberrant Spectre" or should it be written "Aberrant spectre" with only the first part of the name being capitalized. Personally I believe capitalizing both looks more appealing but someone revised my edit so I'll just ask the community. [Composite 4] (My Talk)

Monsters who drop

Is there a way we could sort it so you don't have to scroll hugely down the page to see the entire list, some sort of table to sort it, but make the lines transparent or something? I'm not too sure how people would like it to be done? TzTok-Gas talk 12:33, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

monster levels

I heard a rumour that you could only get these if the monster was of a higher level than you.... this backs up my experience as I haven't had a drop from about 800 creatures level 100-120 (I"m level 122.) Can anyone disprove this with a counter example? Armcie 15:54, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

I am level 129 and got one (RC/Summ) from killing low level monsters. I have a question -- I have read that you can get multiple Effigies and store them in the bank and I know that they don't stack, but will you be able to have more than one of the same type at the same time? (i.e. if I save my RC/Summ effigy until I get the levels to complete it myself, am I precluding the chance that I will get another RC/Summ effigy in the mean time?)

--I really appreciate the reply, but I realized that I asked two different questions, making the "no" answer a bit ambiguous. To clarify, can I have two of the same type of effigy at the same time?

Could we get a drop log going for these somewhere as a direct result of slayer assignments seeriouslly I have put in 16 hours of cannoning slayer each day since the update came out & have only got 2 so far.

That's alot of time & cannonballs for virtually no results so far it's looking like D Chain from dust devils rare for me :(. Oh well I guess I got other drops but these arn't a very good way to train most skills just a nice boost every now & then.

Level 133 got Effigy from Gargoyle. This silly rumour is based on the stated truth that "higher level" monsters are more likely to drop an effigy, but this means "higher" than other possible effigy-dropping monsters, not "higher" than the player's level. 188.220.35.172 20:01, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Name: Effigies vs Effigy

Whilst it was in rs news as 'ancient effigies' it is listed in the game guide as 'ancient effigy'. Which of these can be considered the 'official name'? Is it specifically metioned in game?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Henneyj (talk).

I put this on the other effigy page, which i got from someone's mod quotes, which seem legit, "They do not require any levels to get, and the assist system can be used if you do not have the required level in the two skills the effigy requires. Each stage of the effigy has two different skills which can be used before passing onto the next stage. The effigies are a rare drop, and are dropped by (presumably) most high levelled monsters. Receiving an effigy as a drop will show up on your adventure log and more than one can be held at one time." DMalfoy 16:13, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Flesh Crawlers

I'd like some proof on that aswell, as they seem rarther random when compared to the other monsters combat levels. Flesh crawlers arnt high levels. =S Super adm 16:52, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Confirmed, I have got quite a few from these in the past few days:

After killing a Flesh Crawler, it dropped an ancient effigy. (24-Jan-2011 20:26)

No limit?

So I assume that after you restore the starved effigy, you can then restore the next one immediately if you have the required level, and so on until you restore all of the effigies? Do you have to wait between restorations?  Tien  16:44, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Experience reward

the following was removed from the article, which is understandable since it may not be accurate, but i figured it might be useful for a reference in working out the xp reward. presumably talking about the dragonkin lamp

Assist

Since I have nowhere near the levels. If I find one, and use the assist system, who receives the experience? Can I use someone who is a 99 to fill it all the way up? Do they get all the experience and I the dragonkin lamp? 16px‎AtlandyBeer 18:20, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

You can only get 30,000 xp from any 1 person in 24 hours, so you couldnt. But who gets experience? If you havent got the level and you get assistance of someone then that person gets the experience but you will get the Dragonkin Lamp at the end of it. Hope this answers your questions.

spritual mages?

It says al of Kuradal's tasks except for spiritual mages drop effigies, yet spiritual mages are on the list.  ???

Removed some useless information

I removed the (Dunge Castle) notation from after Daemonheim. The abbreviation of dungeoneering is not dunge, that makes no sense. If someone doesn' t know what Daemonheim is they won't know what "Dunge Castle" is anyhow.

EDIT: I also removed spiritual mages from the list of monsters that drop effigies. As stated in the paragraph above the list, spiritual mages do not drop effigies. 63.147.9.29 05:20, January 16, 2011 (UTC)

Specialist clans?

Can we put clans that fall under a skill specialty. Like FFDN a rc clan is allowing rc effigies only? I think it would help direct people to a group of people who are willing to assist them. Just a suggestion 173.190.21.147 07:25, March 26, 2011 (UTC) O_o Willis

The most efficient monsters for harvesting effigies

The supplied calculator doesn't help much as it doesn't include the time taken to kill a monster it only tells you what are your odds to get an effigy from a certain leveled monster. It would be nice if an efficiency table of best monsters to kill for effigies would be introduced that takes the time needed to kill the monster. a good example would be: killing level 124 Abyssal demons for 10 hours will get you more effigies than killing a level 580 Kree'arra for 10 hours. So lets assume a maxed player using best gear with overload and a cannon camps with certain monsters for 20 hours. A table of such monsters would be a nice addition to the article.

If you are looking to get a lot of effigies try Steel Dragons. You get an Effigy around every 1.5k Fire Waves so the cost is realitivley low (480k cost, you make around 200k so its 280k per Figgy). This doesn't really help your idea but I was hoping it might help you :) Roomescape1 22:25, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

Can monster pages be edited to include drop rate?

I was just thinking about how all of the moster pages rate effigies as either "Rare", "Uncommon", or "Very rare"

Wouldn't it be nicer if there was an approx drop rate, similar to the table?

Ex: Black demon "Rare" - 1 in 316

If you're talking about doing this for all drops, you might want to start a thread on the Yew Grove for it. I'd imagine it would take a lot of work to get exact odds for the drop rate of all items though, if even possible. Ronan Talk 13:52, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

I would imagine it'd be possible to make a bot to go around to every monster who drops it and use the formula on this page rounded to the nearest whole number 65.95.22.242 22:42, July 7, 2011 (UTC)

And that would be truly wonderful, if it wasn't going completely against the one of the most fundamental rules of RuneScape. Ronan Talk 16:08, July 8, 2011 (UTC)

I believe he meant on rune wiki, have a bot that goes to each monster page and use the table to supply a approx drop rate (kind of like the calculator on this very page). I think its a great idea but who has the know how to do it? I guess its also possible to be done manually. Roomescape1 22:02, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

Dust devils

Since no one is responding on that article, I was hoping someone here would. Instead of entering an edit war (was reverted by someone the same day), I want to see if there is anyone is in favor of changing their effigy drop from "rare" to "very rare." According to this article, they are in the same level bracket as Aberrant Spectres (spectres being the higher level of the two) and I very rarely get effigies from spectres (as per the rarity stated on their article) and I've never gotten one from Dust Devils, despite their supposed "rare" drop of effigies.

Anyone in favor of switching Dust Devils to "very rare"? Dsctatom 22:53, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

I've had 2 from dusties so far, it's all based on combat level and they're about the same as spectres (like under 5 difference). 216.58.117.13 17:55, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

Cave Crawlers

At the very bottom of the trivia, it mentions slaying them for effigies; someone mentioned on the Cave Crawler talk page that they no longer drop as well as they used to. Anyone who currently uses this method have any input? And if no one does use that method, it doesn't seem worth mentioning in the trivia. Dsctatom 04:30, September 6, 2011 (UTC)
