I havent got a chance to do it yet, so my cape has undoubtably unequipped, but if you have a pic or more details on the weapon's stats then put them in. Green partyhat Bob2006ty(RUNESTORM333)  talk Green partyhat

Just saw a guy selling one for 2.5mil - 3mil and I dunno if it's tradeable or not but I put a street price in - {{Signatures/Total Rune}}07:25, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
You probably need the quest to wield one. You can obtain a new one for 50K by talking to the monk. So, it seems like yet another scammer in action. A realistic street price is around the Monk replacement value.

Changes in anchor stats

Update:Burgh de Rott Ramble 13 March 2007

Barrelchest Anchor

Players who've completed The Great Brain Robbery will find that we've made some changes to the Anchor weapon. In particular, we've increased its strength bonus to 87, but its attack speed has been reduced very slightly, as befits such a heavy item.

We have also increased the price, as we felt it was too cheap for such a powerful weapon. To make things fair, everyone will be able to get the anchor repaired one more time at the old price of 50k, but after that it will cost 700k to replace.

Finally, we have changed the way the anchor behaves when you die with it. If the anchor is one of the items you would normally expect to drop when you die, it will disappear and you will instead drop 230k coins. We made this change because the anchor is an item which people use for player-killing; we felt it was worth rewarding the big risks involved in killing a player-killer who was armed with this weapon.

Another change in the anchor from March 20 RS In other news... The anchor from the Great Brain Robbery quest has had its stats boosted one more time. Its strength bonus has risen from 87 to 100 and its crush attack has increased from 80 to 92. On far-off Mos Le'Harmless, Smithing Smith has decided to change the fee he charges for repairing all broken anchors, so he'll now demand 230k coins to make your new anchors ship-shape and ready for head-pounding action. About repairing it...........

Cant you repair it in your house or something? Just wondering.--Pkthis 01:34, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

As stated in the article, you must take it to Smithy in Mos Le'Harmless to get it repaired for the cost of 230k. Alex1908 15:11, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Death?

With gravestones, does this meen that if you lose on deliberatly, and retrieve it from your grave, you effectivly get a complete refund? Artwich 19:20, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, you do. It happened to me.--Quest point cape detail Brux Talk 23:54, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

I just tried, didn't work for me. Didn't keep anything and didn't get a grave.78.69.245.231 15:21, November 6, 2010 (UTC)

I realise this is an old comment but yes, upon death you will have 230,000 shiny gp waiting underneath your gravestone. -- Chaotic crossbow detail Lord AdamLog Skillcape emote icon 05:11, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

Maul similarities?

Which maul, if any, would you say this weapon is most similar to? Planeshifted 04:21, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Dharok's Greataxe

some people believe this weapon is superior to the greataxe due to the fact that not only is faster but has a sp attack. Some one could mention that in the article Death reap 19:30, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

That's too trivial statement to be written in Wiki IMO. It may depend on how much health is remaining for the dharok user but generally dharok set would have higher DPS. SummoningSernions 00:02, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

SS

Is it better than SS, I know that it has better stats but is slower. What would you recommend or in which circumstances. Thank you!

ss(saradomin sword) is usually used for training strength and act as a substitute to whip or dragon scimitar. so, ss would be for training purposes, and barrelchest anchor is to be used aginst a monster with high defence. Also, please sign your comment. --Qazwsx753421 12:31, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Wielding Stance Bug?

according to the maul article page, "mauls are two-handed weapons". whether this Barrelchest Anchor is included as a maul, is often disputed. one thing about this is for sure though, that the Anchor is heavy and the past animations show it having a reputation of being wielded similar to 2H swords (resting over the shoulder) even with the latest screenshot. however since the official launch of the Evolution of Combat, most signature weapon animation stances have been removed, including the Anchor's as well. lately if one was to wield the Anchor, the stance similar to conventional one-handed swords is shown (instead of what was shown in the screenshot, resting on the shoulders). I find this very peculiar as this Anchor was famous for being known as a 'heavy, slow weapon', and as mentioned, it is only rightful that it is wielded resting on the shoulder (or even the previous stance was fine). not only does the stance show this when we wield the Anchor, but even the running and walking animations are confounded similar to this so-called bug. it is though, interesting to note that as with most mauls, the Anchor is carried similarly in one hand (portraying the stance of one-hand sword wielding). the thing I would like to know is, is everyone here experiencing this same issue with your own Anchors? or is it just that I was jumping to a conclusion when this shoulder-resting stance could be created somehow? if so, please do share your knowledge. if not, should I report this as a in-game bug? Just cute (talk) 14:23, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

Disassembly

Since there's no way to have a switchfobox for disassembly at the moment, I'll put this here.

  • Broken is default disassemble
  • Repaired is 98.9% junk, often = Base, head, plated parts, rarely = heavy, strong components, 0.3xp, 12 components
