Bank versus Bookcase[]
As far as I'm concerned, a bookcase does NOT save bank-space. I tried this out some time ago (hoping very much I would save bank-space), carrying my books with me from the bank to my house, but NO, they were still there when I got back to bank. Maybe Jagex has modified their behaviour since then...? I'll have to try to remember to check sometime, unless someone else wants to check? -- Zang! talk

- I think you got all wrong. Bookcases help you store books from previous quests. So, you don't need to keep the quest-obtained books in the bank, if a version is available in your bookcase. By discarding books from your bank, you technically save bank space. By the way, the bookcase magically refills itself if you take a book out from the bookcase. Meaning, even if drop a book obtained from bookcase, you can get it back from the bookcase. Hope that clears things up. az talk 14:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Strange bookcase behavior[]
My bookcase is acting really strange. When I first constructed one, I had several extra books (Pie Recipe Book, Legend of the Brothers, The Ultimate Guide to Glassblowing) even though I never obtained those books. Now, I got a goblin book as a drop, and bought the astronomy book from the Grand Exchange, and as far as I know, they should appear in my bookcase, but they don't! I tried using the goblin book on the bookcase, and I just got a message telling me I placed it on the bookcase, but nothing else. It didn't appear in my bookcase after that. Why is this?
EDIT: The bookcase ate many other books, including the astronomy book, dwarf cannon manual and cocktail manual. Please help me, people!
