I tried to add that Moevyng sounds like moving, but for some reason every edit I make is deleted within the next 10 seconds. LITERALLY. Megakid39 00:29, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
Alright I think it's staying...possible rewording for me please? Megakid39 00:31, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
So I had a bit of fun, and I compiled a RuneScape 2010 calendar!! Has RuneScape days of week/months, but can't quite get the holidays on there, but I will include those separately (for you to write down :D) so you can know when stuff happens!!! Now to figure out how to upload it... Megakid39 05:55, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
- You mean like a real life, inanimate object calendar?? Awesome! Evil Yanks talk 05:58, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
Autoupdating day[]
It's quite clear that the dates of Gielinor and real world do not have a relationship (it has been year 169 since RS was released), so having an autoupdating day is wrong.
Time is basically frozen and only moves when you do quests. Jagex has not told us what day it is when all quests are done.

- I have now made some changes. --Muhahaa 20:51, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
Where are the real world equivalents mentioned?[]
Postbag 21 doesn't mention any real world equivalents for RS months. Sources please. Muhahaa 21:01, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
I've added a factual accuracy template, since there's no proof at all that there is correspondence between RS and real calendars. Actually, there is more evidence that there is NO such correspondence (169 of fifth age forever). Muhahaa 13:09, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
- The RuneScape calendar and the Gregorian calendar are both 365-366 days long, and feature a leap day every four years. Therefore if both calendars are overlapped they will correspond. That's what the comparisons on the page are meant to represent.--Kirbychu HR'D
- But, what if the first day of the Gielinorian calendar corresponded to e.g. 14th of July or 5th of November? There is no evidence that 1st of Rintra = 1st of January. --Muhahaa 16:49, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
- It's really just a logical assumption. The leap day in Moevyng supports the real world equivalency indicated in the article. February 29 would be the 60th day of any given year. The 60th day of the RuneScape calendar would be Moevyng 21. In the newletter, it is mentioned that Moevyng Day occurs near the middle of the month. Moevyng has 39 days in leap years, so Moevyng 21 occurs near the middle of the month. Dtm142 20:22, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Real World equivalents[]
The stongest evidence for the association between the Gielinor and Gregorian calendars is Wintumber. The RS Christmas event nearly always references Wintumber as the current time period. We can therefore infer that the Runescape calendar & real world calendars correspond to each other fairly closely, especially since they are, as Kirbychu HR'D pointed out, the same length. Even if they are not exactly aligned with each other, the beginning of the year in one would have to be within 2-3 weeks of the beginning of the other. --Alyntha
- We'll still have to remember that it has been year 169 of the Fifth Age since RuneScape was released (was it 2000 or 2001?) -> there is no movement of time in RuneScape except when doing quests or anything that actually progresses the storyline. --Muhahaa 18:30, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
Days of the week[]
In The Chosen Commander, the H.A.M. agent at the door says that they use the "old Saradominist calendar", meaning that it is quite possible that those names of the days are not used by anyone else on Gielinor. I think we should change/remove this, unless we can find another source. 46.116.179.206 13:40, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Scale Theory[]
I think it is safe to say that Gielnorian and Gregorian calendars are overlapping but because of the scale theory of rs, the actual year never passes only restarts. Doubt this settles anything for this topic but i think it somewhat justifies the year always being 169. Samba37 12:13, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
Postbag from the Hedge Issue 21 Reference[]
I have added the full response to the question on article 21 to the page, as well as a link to verify it. This should settle the dispute, and I have calculated, based on the article, that there are 365 days in the Glienorian Calendar which would suggest that the Gregorian Calendar and Gleinorian Calendar are overlappable.
As a response to the year always being 169, Maybe the term "year" on glienor refers to something totally different, maybe its a cycle of so many passes of the calendar. If it was truly yearly, we should be going on year 180.
