This talk page is for discussing the Chinchompa (disambiguation) page.

Merge/tidy/cleanup

It seems this whole system of pages around the "Chinchompa" is a bit messed up, so I propose the following changes to it:

  1. Current standard chinchompa page is moved to Chinchompa (item) or chinchompa (weapon)
  2. Chinchompa (disambiguation) is moved to Chinchompa and describes the species as a whole
    • Skillchompa page deprecated and made a section of this one

If there any objections due to convention please let me know. I will endeavour to carry this out sometime soon otherwise. Techhead7890Talk 11:22, October 7, 2014 (UTC)

No. Per RS:GRAN if there exists an item/NPC/object in RuneScape that has a specific exact name, it should get the article with that exact name. If a disambiguation page needs to be created, it will be suffixed with " (disambiguation)". There is also no problem with having several sub-disambiguation pages, which might not even be linked to one-another. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 11:44, October 7, 2014 (UTC)
Counteroffer:
  1. Item keeps page. Disambiguation moved to 'Chinchompa (species)'.
    • Change most redirects to hit species page.
  2. Skillchompa page deprecated as no content - it is disambiguation which would *become redundant* with a main-page linking the species.
Consider it please, but thanks for your advice of the wiki policy here. Techhead7890Talk 14:32, October 10, 2014 (UTC)
Skillchompa should stay separate, because it's a separate search term. The disambiguation page should exist as a navigational page. If you want to create a page for the species as a whole, you can feel free, but it shouldn't replace the disambiguation. They would serve separate functions. MolMan 15:28, October 10, 2014 (UTC)
Late reply, but thanks for your good advice. Perhaps I will have to create Chinchompa (species) in that case. Techhead7890 Talk Contribs 01:28, January 22, 2016 (UTC)
