Edit: It may have been that I was wearing range armor? Did EoC make mismatching armor types nerf damage output?  If so, that would explain it.  Right after removing royal d'hide set, I dealt final blow just from a normal strike.

Revision as of 04:36, 28 July 2014

This talk page is for discussing the Demon Slayer page.

So i just found out that they re-made the demon slayer quest. It just popped up in my quest journal today. I'm doing it now, it is still really easy. Unfortunately you cant use the silverlight you already have. Bummer.

Darklight

I've just done the new version of this, and it let me use Darklight to kill Delrith, went through the whole quest and had Silverlight in my inventory but didn't have to wield it. Paronomasia (talk) 17:38, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

I used a Darklight as well. It would be awesome if someone could add, "the Darklight as an optional replacement over the Silverlight," or something along those lines, to the page. Halo4life090 (talk) 01:01, January 29, 2013 (UTC)

Why did they change this quest?

The new version is in no way superior to the old oh you have to prove yourself worthy of silverlight now by doing mundane tasks? Also what's with them putting the demon summoning area down some trapdoor why not just use the old area the Wizards here are no threat what so ever. I'm rather disapointed.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.179.29.137 (talk).

That's more down to an improved lore on how to get the silverlight and Delrith's summoning happening. Doesn't matter if the stone wasn't the main location now but its an overall improvement rather than running round constantly through Varrock Sewer just to get a key for the Silverlight. Abyssal vine whip TonyBest100 Bandos chestplate 14:07, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

The old version was boring, easy and rather crappy graphics. Plain and Simple

Jagex Controversies

Just a bit curious to why this page is in Category:Jagex Controversies? Sonicx00222 (talk) 21:10, July 13, 2013 (UTC)

This quest received a full make-over, completely changing the story. I believe that is the reason why it spurred controversy. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:05, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
Ahh thanks. There are a lot of pages under Jagex Controversies that don't really seem that controversial to me. Maybe it's just my opinion. Sonicx00222 (talk) 17:42, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Quest walkthrough: Bach's ancestors vs descendants

The Demonology section of the walkthrough talks about Silverlight, and says "The sword rests in the crypt directly below the church, watched over by its previous owners, descendants of the Bach family."

The descendents are the younger members of the Bach family, and they will presumably look after the sword in the future.

The word for family members from past generations  is ancestors.

I will make the change in the article.

The prayer is useless to me

I don't see how prayer can be useful in this question cuz I've done it really early many times and have no problems taking the damage Delrith inflicts, and I mean low damage; even with just half the food you get from the Zamorak monks I last through it perfectly, even as a mage or a ranger. Not to mention it takes long to level to 37 prayer. --Rautamiekka (talk) 11:55, March 31, 2014 (UTC)

Taking forever?

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but I am doing the remake of the quest, and am fighting Delright.  I believe this fight is taking over 10 minutes.  My levels are 77 att, 74 str, so you would think it would be an easy fight to kill a level 15 demon.  However, literally no basic ability will touch him.  Occasionally, if it works, an ultimate will damage him 1/4, but nothing else will do a lick of damage? Anyone know if this is intentional?

Thanks!
