Slave robes and the robe of elidinis[]

"Slave robes and the robe of elidinis do not provide protection from desert heat". This had been removed in a recent edit, but with no edit summary and no discussion on this talk page (and the only edit by an anonymous user), it may not be correct - especially given that the change was a simple removal, rather than adding the above garments to the list that will protect from desert heat. If appropriate, could someone verify or rebuff this here please? Does the effect take place while in the Kalphite Lair.

no, and you can completely avoid the desert heat by going through the Dorgesh-Kaan agility course (bring lightsource) dbvkill

The robes of Elidinis extend the amount of time until you need to take a drink by 30 seconds. You can't benefit from a full 2 minutes (120 seconds) between drinks unless you also wear the desert boots. -Werd Sebrof

Just to clarify these old rumours: Neither slave robes or robes of Elidinis provide protection. Just tested this. Thingummywut (talk) 21:28, July 1, 2018 (UTC)

Factual correction[]

The Desert Heat article mentions Choc-Ice's ability to heal Constitution. The page claims 60 points are recovered, while the Choc-Ice page itself claims it's 70 points. What is the actual amount?

What about the desert disguise?[]

Why isn't the desert disguise mentioned here?--Mu695 22:40, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

Because it isn't one of the items that offers protection against the heat. Just tested this personally. Thingummywut (talk) 21:26, July 1, 2018 (UTC)

Dervish outfit inaccuracy[]

I am not saying which is incorrect, or that I know... but they can both be!

This article states: "Dervish Outfit - This outfit of clothes can be bought from Xuan as part of the Members Loyalty Programme, costing 1,000 Loyalty Points. Wearing any piece of this outfit seems to cancel the desert heat effect completely, meaning that you don't need waterskins/enchanted water tiara at all. It's not sure whether this is a bug or not."

Dervish page states: "The Dervish Outfit, in contrast to other loyalty membership outfits, offers partial protection to desert heat."

What protects the best?[]

Is there a hierachy? Or are they all just as good? . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 19:09, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I made a sort of table also because the different articles also seem to have conflicting infromation with each other:

set exists of (Full) Set Time until you need to drink
Head, top, bottom, boots Dervish Outfit no time given, it used to say it would negate all... but has been removed, if it's still the best, is not said
top, bottom, boots Desert clothing 120 (claimed by Desert clothing and Desert clothing)
head, top, bottom Desert outfit or Menaphite clothing 45 (Desert clothing) but obviously conflicts with 'no protection', since that should be better
top, bottom, boots Slave robes (less then Menaphite, but more than no protection) time not given, hence also conflicts with 'no protection'
No protection 90 (claimed by Desert clothing) but obviously conflicts with 'Desert outfit' &' Menaphite clothing', since that should be better
top, bottom Robes of Elidinis same as no protection (claimed by all), how long it will take is not given
head Enchanted water tiara only examination info claims to protect form the sun, otherwise no information
head Desert disguise article claims that it protects against the heat too, but is not suggested elsewhere
Talent scout concept art

Desert Headgear, though not officially approved or disapproved.

I think this does deserve some attention; al these inaccuracies.

Also, the 1st pictures of the Behind the scenes used to redirect here. But it was later removed, this is the picture. Suggesting more desert heat clothing, though it was not officially approved or disapproved. . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. So much later and still there'smany contradctions regarding desert items... should really looked at.

Regarding th desert gear in this picture I can say it is not a player item, it's just how the talent scout looks in the desert (near the agil pyramid)

Yeah, I realized that later. Which is fine, I'm sure you understand my confusion though ;) . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Heal amount[]

In Choc-ice page it's told this to heal 70 LP, what? Wonder wich be the correction..

Incomplete outfits[]

It's not clear what extension comes from partial outfits. Rich Farmbrough, 23:36 2 January 2014 (UTC).

How I survived for a long time without water[]

I did a test of mining granite for an entire hour without any waterskins nor enchanted water tiara (not even tome of frost). I was actually able to survive. As a matter of fact, I hardly lost more than 20% HP. I used a Desert Bottom and shoes and Varrock armour and a Regen Bracelet. I'm not sure if desert damage is based on current/max HP or it's the same for everyone but with level 84 Constitution it worked. Puretppc (talk) 02:07, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
