Collecting

The actual minigame by the Lumbridge castle is a horrible way of collecting Divine Tears - I found that mining gold at Living Rock Caverns are a very productive way of collecting them - is there any other quick methods that don't involve wasting time with low xp gains? AFKeying (talk) 13:54, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Does it reset to 5 if you have over 3k of them on your backbag as rate I have them is is not getting better than 2 at max?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.130.34.195 (talk) on 19:57, July 26, 2013.

I haven't really tried many different skills yet, but Runespan gives you tears now and then. Edit: Almost exactly at the same rate as anagogic ort . --Stag Myztra Roxxs Centaur 14:37, July 23, 2013 (UTC)
I've seen cleaning herbs give a decent rate--Deltaslug (talk) 20:15, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Interestingly, even working at the Sawmill can provide you with tears. Albeit in small quantities, seemingly. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:10, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

In my experience, resource-gathering on the battlefield as been more productive than off, and battling the opposing NPC's has been the quickest.  Of course, now that we're in week 4, the xp amount when resource gathering has been significantly increased - I'm getting 200xp per successful net cast in the fishing spots.69.242.179.103 09:55, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

Gathering skills and places

Someone removed my addition that Runespan gives you tears, with the comment that they are gathered everywhere. But they are not. I spent a few hours in the Advanced Gnome agility course and didn't get any at all. And if this was true, why leave the other three skills mentioned in the article, and not remove them all? :o  --Stag Myztra Roxxs Centaur 14:31, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

According to http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/The_Battle_of_Lumbridge they are gathered for the following activities:
  • Killing any creature that drops charms.
  • Farming
  • Fishing
  • Herblore
  • Hunter
  • Mining
  • Runecrafting
  • Woodcutting
IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 15:16, July 23, 2013 (UTC)
I meant relative to anything runecrafting. The list above was already on the page. MolMan 15:19, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Changing factions

According to a post on the RSOF, Divine tears that you have in your inventory are not removed when changing factions. Have yet to test it myself, when I change later this week. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 05:53, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

I tested this myself, and all Divine tears in my inventory remained before, during and after having changed factions ^^ . Too bad they're not bankable... IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 17:59, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Capping

This is the first day I've had the time to try and cap my divine tears. I'm currently down to the "x1" modifier (2823 tears collected so far), and seem to have dropped getting any tears from NPC kills..? I did deposit several Divine shards earlier, but according to a clanmate, once you've capped, the game will tell you and make you unable to skill on the battlefield; which I can still do. I'm also still, occasionally, getting tears from skilling... Is this normal / has anyone else noticed the same? IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 10:58, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

So it seems, at the time of the above writing, that I was very close to capping for the day, around the last 50 or so tears. I guess killing NPCs is simply unreliable to get the last few allotted tears? Good to know for tomorrow. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 13:13, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Divine tears in Inventory

According to the third post in this RSOF topic, tears in your inventory count towards your cap of the next day? Can anyone confirm or deny this claim? IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 19:22, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

I think it's save to say this is confirmed, based on the number of RSOF posts (and no, I am not going to test it). Deposit your tears at the end of each day! IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 05:52, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Multiplier limits

From the last day or two, here are my approximate limits for the multipliers. tested with a dragon token (a gap just means I wasn't paying perfect attention)

multiplier lower limit upper limit
5x 0 1249
4x 1261 1885
3x 1901 2308
2x 2311 2710
1x 2711 3000
0x 3000 n/a

Illagong (talk) 02:43, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

While I've never kept that with this much details, they do seem similar to / the same as my experience. Tho, Mol theorised the multiplier actually has a decimal fraction which we don't know; slowing down the rate of tears as you are nearing the next multiplier. I seem to concur with this possibility; this is mostly noticeable around 2800-2900 tears collected, when you are no longer getting 1 tear per action/NPC kill. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:28, July 28, 2013 (UTC)
I gathered 2680 divine tears today, when I noticed my multiplier had dropped to x1; earlier than your table'd suggest. No divine shards so far, today. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 08:51, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

Dropped tears glitch

i have a screenshot of this, you have to die and let the npc finish them off....

should i post it and caption it? --Death 06:34, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure if it is worth mentioning; considering killing monsters outside of the battlefield will also yield Divine tears, which do appear in the drop-stack, rather than straight in your inventory. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 08:13, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
just wonderin' 'cause some of the pages have glitches in like Trivia or something but okay. --Death 16:31, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Divine Tears multiplier not resetting?

I am currently a f2p player and I have had an issue with the Divine Tears multiplier not resetting twice since the event started. I heard that it's supposed to reset at midnight UTC, but I remember playing it one day and my tear counter was still 0x from the previous day and the multiplier did not reset until the next day after that. I also collected 1,000+ tears another day, but I left them in my inventory and the counter did not reset for another two days. Is this a glitch or is it happening to everybody? I feel a bit cheated and confused by all this. 99.120.154.125 22:24, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

From what I've gathered, any Divine tears in your inventory WILL count towards your daily cap, even if those tears where gathered on a previous day. Until you have an inventory empty of Divine tears, and the reset happens, you won't get up to "x5" again. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 05:55, July 30, 2013 (UTC)
Also, just like limitations on D&Ds like evil trees, you will need to log out, refresh the log-in screen then log back in for the reset to occur.  Matchgirl42 (talk) 01:17, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

Drop rate of Divine Tears

I killed 1000 cows and got 39 drops of 5 tears suggesting a ~4% drop rate. Has anyone checked whether this rate is the same for other kills? I was wearing a Dragon Token if that makes any difference. Block7head (talk) 19:28, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

Glowing Pools Gone?

I went on Runescape today and realised that glowing pools are missing (Fishing) in the Battle of Lumbridge Event. Apparently there must be some sort of glitch found and maybe Jagex is trying to fix it? Jhgenius01 (talk) 11:48, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

I'll check once I get home this evening, but they were around yesterday, and there has been no update since. Are you in an instance of the battle? I have heard that there were some issues with the fishing spots in those. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 11:53, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
It appears that some worlds seem to lack the Fishing tear spots due to some bug for some reason. Just try switching to another world to have the return. Abyssal vine whip TonyBest100 Bandos chestplate 12:01, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
They don't appear on the instanced battlefieds atm (it's a glitch), so just walk off and back on until you enter the one in the world itself. Illagong (talk) 00:39, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

Cheating the daily limit

One method I know to 'cheat' the daily limit of 3000 tears is to deposit a divine shard at the same time as your last divine tears. But I've just come across another one: if you are at 2999 tears, receive another tear AND have the bonus tear from your token kick in, you'll end up at 3001 tears. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 09:41, August 10, 2013 (UTC)

Limit increase?

Has there been a daily limit increase? I'm on 3030 and it's still on x1. I reported it as a bug anyway but does anyone know if it is? 04ismailjj6 (talk) 18:12, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

Did you get any tears before today's update? Also see the bottom of this section: Talk:Battle of Lumbridge#Divine_tears_multiplier. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 18:21, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
No I didn't log on until after the update so that's not what happened. I did collect about 70 sacred metal fragments from the nodes earlier, so maybe that's messed it up somehow? 04ismailjj6 (talk) 18:25, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Strange, I'd say keep going until you reach x0? IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 18:32, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah that's what I'm doing, I heard some people say that the tears from the yellow nodes don't count towards the cap and I collected about 100 of those earlier too. I'll see what number I cap at. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 18:34, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
That's an interesting hypothesis. I wonder if the doubling of tears received from the champions is also not counted as part of your cap. (From personal experience, I'd say the champions double the tears you should've gotten, rather than giving twice the amount of tears. As I've gotten 12 tears from a champion once, which I assume is 5 (I was at x5) as normal, plus my token's effect kicking in = 6, times two). IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 18:38, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Well, guess I'll join the party. At 3002 tears atm and my modifier is still x1, and I did not get any tears prior to the update today. Though I don't have the time to try and get it to x0. Did get a few yellow nodes, but more champion kills than those. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 19:28, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
I hit the limit at 3156 meaning it's probably a combination of the extra yellow ones and the doubling from champion kills, not counting towards the final total. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 21:19, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

Experience

Just noting, I'm getting 124.8 experience at Woodcutting 94, every time I get some tears. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 18:27, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

123.6 experience at Mining level 93. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 18:31, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Both of those data points were with a silver token. It would seem the token affects the experience gotten; according to recent edits to the token pages. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 19:57, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

It appears the gathering of tears and their experience now scales to the level of what you're using to gather.
A friend and I both noticed that the XP rate was different on the the varied gathering points. Our XP gain was the same for Mining which we both had the same from but for me where the xp gain was slightly lower in Woodcutting due to being 2 level lower, hers Soared due to having a much MUCH higher Woodcutting level than her mining.
The Result was reversed in Fishing only at a lower XP gain due to my character having a higher fishing level thans hers but those levels were still lower than the other two options.
Note, we're both using Gold Tokons and have gathered about the same due to playing together in our game/computer room. 64.90.222.162 04:32, August 14, 2013 (UTC)
