I need help![]
I just bought a Dwarf Cannon from the Grand Exchange in a set. I completed the quest. How do you set it up? If you know, put it below in the space. I need help. Thanks. Right click base, click set up. Use cannon balls on the cannon and then click fire or just click fire and it will load it up automatically and start shooting. Every 30 cballs you must refill it.

Yes, but it will run out of ammunition very quickly, plus it will decay after a set time. A free replacement can be obtained from Nulodion if this occurs.

It may be, but I doubt it is. Another possibility is that you may use it in early wildy, but not deep. But it would make PK'ing way too easy and I doubt you can.
Cannons CAN be used in the wilderness, they will just not fire at players.
You should really change the 400 charges thing. I just had around 3.5k runs until the decay warning came up.
Yes, the 400 comes from the Runescape guide, but the number of shots before the warning seems to be inconsistent.
I just tested the charges on my cannon, I got through approximately 1,100 cannon balls before my cannon gave me the decay warning. You can still use it until it fully decays and disappears, then you can get a new cannon free from Nulodion between Falador and Varrock. how do you open up the cannon if its just a dwarf cannon set it says you can use it and drop it but how do u open it to get the pieces? To open all sets, right click on a person in the grand exchange and setlect "sets." You will get an interface showing a bunch of different armour. Must you do the quest to use the cannon? I was under the impression that you only needed the quest to buy it from the npc. What if u buy from a fellow player?
yes you need to do the quest to use the cannon.
the dwarf multi-cannon has its own techniques so yes you will need to complete the quest to obtain this spectacular weapon but you also have to be members.
Does the cannon's damage depend at all on range level?

The Grand Exchange price is currently 530k. to set up a cannon put down the cannon base then but down the cannon legs, then the barrels, then the furnace

After you do the quest and are able to use the cannon, if you end up dying while it is set up you can get it replaced for free because it has a 'warranty' on it. If it is set up and you log out same thing, Just talk to Nulodian and he will replace it. Your old one will dissapear in like 10 minutes and nobady else can loot it.
Your cannon stays in the spot it is in, and even fires at the enemies while it has ammo, but if you do not pick it up soon enough (within 25 minutes of setting it up, usually no matter how many shots are fired), it will decay and the cannon is lost forever (of course, you could always go to ice mountain or the grand exchange to get another one).
Than your cannon just stays there , and if it is away (that can) than you just can get it bij nulodeon for free ;)
Logging out[]
I was wondering whether if you log out with the cannon set up, does it go to Nulodian? Or is it lost? (I'm assuming it doesn't automatically appear again when you log in)

Anyone know where the best place to use this cannon and still make money if you but the cannonballs would really like to know as i need to lvl my range and am quite poor so would like to make money not lose

You can log out and the cannon will be back at the place you left it or at the dwarves where you can buy them, there used to be a glitch that if you logged out it could be stolen but now that is fixed.
God Wars Dungeon[]

You should try training on anything that drops good stuff i use my cannon on slayer and on barrows i make a lot of money this way and yes buy a cannon
One thing that seems to affect the effectiveness of a cannon is the effectiveness of the weapon you are weilding. I used a cannon while weilding a bronze axe and it hardly hit more than about 3. I wielded a whip and it went back to normal. O3 Depleter 13:59, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Multiple Cannons[]
Are we allowed to use more than 1 cannon?
I think you can own as many as you like, but you can only setup one at a time. Given that most times you loose it you can get it back for free, I don't see that there is any point in owning more than one. O3 Depleter 14:01, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Decay[]
I think cannon decay is on a timer, and not based on number of shots, because i got the warning message when it wasn't firing. Maybe there is a minimum number of shots for it to decay, or to start the timer or something. --98.238.208.25 15:46, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, the cannon's decay is based on a timer, it gives you a warning message in 20 minutes if it is on the ground and not picked up, and it will decay in 25. However, the decay is a one time thing, and it can easily be fixed by picking up the cannon and setting it back up. Also, Jagex must have updated this, because last time I checked, you couldn't get the cannon back if it decayed.
- You have always been able to get your cannon back. The first time I used one was in 2006 I believe and it decayed and I logged out plenty and I could always get it back.

Yes, it is a timer. You get the warning message after 20mins and then it decays 5 mins after that. When you get the warning message, if you pick up then cannon then re-assemble it the timer resets.
You have a point,it depends on the state of your cannon. for me it decays after like 4k cannonballs. If by chance it does decay you can get it back from a guy whos name beggins with n Nulodeon on ice Mountain.
Update to cannon in 2008[]
"However, in August 2008, an update was made[source needed] to the dwarf multicannon that expanded the target regions"- This was not an announced update so it won't be found in the archives. Does anyone remember what announced update it came with though? (Might actually have been late July, I can't remember.)
- I read through every update post in August 2008, and I didn't find it. Importance of putting the cannon link on pages where is cannot be taken.[]

I bought a cannon and used it. Thought I might take it to slayer tower and searched the page for cannon. It had no reference, so I took it. This was annoying to find I couldn't use it. Shouldn't it be displayed on the page in which it cant be used?
I agree, dude. It seems the page doesn't include a full list of locations where u can't take it. The list should be expanded (if possible). And yes, the pages for locations where u can't take it should display that either with a template or just a small trivia reference.

If you want to know where you can or can't use the cannon, it would make more sense to check the cannon's page, or if it's a large list a subpage that is linked to from the cannon's page. Location pages might have it in their trivia, but I would expect the cannon page to be more reliable and more convenient. THARKON 16:28, March 11, 2011 (UTC)

- You have to weigh in the following factors:
- There are many locations where cannons can't be used, most slayer dungeons for obvious reasons.
- Almost everyone can use a cannon if they wanted to (just requires one small quest).
- Cannons are usually more expensive than conventional methods.
- Actually, the wiki is not the place to discuss such matters.

Cannon for slayer[]
This would probably need a whole separate page, but if someone could please compile a list/chart of all the slayer tasks and say whether there are any creatures of each task which can be attacked by cannon, and if so where to find some. I have not slayed in a while as i wish to keep my combat relatively low, but am planning on starting to slay again. When i do, I would like to use cannon on as manyh tasks as possible. If such a list already exists somewhere I'd appreciate a link to it here, Thanks.

Or he replaces it if it is somehow stolen while it is being set up, but this was fixed with the new cannon update because now there is an auto setup that you cant steal from.

why is buying the cannon on the ge cheaper. are there advantages from buying from the dwarf?
- A cannon in the GE is cheaper because of the low price when sold to a shop, players wanting to sell their cannon are better off doing so through the GE even with the lower prices. Also, there are no advantages or disadvantages to buying through the GE, you will get your cannon back just the same if it disintegrates. DiffusedDawn 14:08, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
- Jagex does not change the price of items in the GE. The prices of items, and the fluctuations of prices, are based on supply and demand. If everyone sells an item at once and not everyone buys it in return, the price for it will drop down. If a lot of people buy but not sell, the price will go up, That's why merch clans work. Therefore, people buy the cannon on ice mountain and they can't sell it back to him easily, so they simply sell it at the GE when they are done. Because people buy it and decide it's not worth it, a lot of people sell it at the GE.
Combat XP[]
I have a skill pure, and I want to buy a Cannon. However, apparently it gives you small amounts of Ranged xp. But I've heard of level 3's using them, (and staying level 3) for things such as getting slayer levels. So, what's up, exactly?

- You do get Ranged xp from using the cannon at 0.2 xp per damage so I don't know how one would be able to stay level 3 while using one. However it is used by pures to gain Ranged xp without gaining constitution xp and there for one would be able to stay a relatively low level with it (But not level 3). - Probably your only bet for getting slayer levels is exp lamps, or food/ring of recoil against slayer task monsters, both of which will take forever to level.
Void Knight Armour?[]
Does the damage bonus from void knight armour apply to the dwarf cannon since it is considered a range weapon?
no the max hit is still 300 i really have no clue why but i use void and a cannon and it never has exceded 300 damage :D
Getting the cannon back...[]
I just bought the Dwarf multicannon from the GE. I will be using it on the Black Demon (The Grand Tree quest). The problem is, after you kill the demon the cannon will disappear: I will lose it. So I was reading a bit and I read I can have it back from Nulodion. The question IS: Seeing I bought it from the G.E., can I get it back with Nulodion? How many times can I get it back for free? - You get it back no matter where you bought it, as long as you had it set-up fully when it disappeared. There is no limit to the amount of times. The amount of cannonballs is hard to tell. It depends on your accuracy (of the weapon you're wielding, even if it's melee or magic), the demon's defence and on luck. Does having boosting prayers on affect it? Like activating Sharp Eye, Hawk Eye, Eagle Eye, Rigour?

I have tested using eagle eye(prayer) on and it only increased the damage bonus i was hitting,but it did not increase the damage of my canon orits accuracy.but ranging potions increase the accuracy of your cannon.

- The message seems pretty much self-explaining. You could try setting it up further north since that is further away from the dwarves. Or if it's just about killing black knights and not so much about the location than you should try their headquarters in the tunnels below Falador. My cannon helped me get my current rank in the White Knight organisation there.

Artisans Workshop Upgrade Question[]
If I spend 50% respect to upgrade my dwarf cannon to a gold one, when it is destroyed do I get the old version back from Nulodian or my golden version?

You'll get the original version back from Nulodion when you claim it back. Then you simply take it back to the workshop and go through the dialogue once or twice to restore it to its ostentatious glory. Remember that picking your cannon up once every 20 minutes and replacing it resets the timer.
2 animated images, needed or not?[]
Do we need an image of a loaded cannon if the image of setting it up already includes all it shows?

cannon also crush?[]
I know that (the) cannons are ranged weapons. But some monsters that are weak are against ranged and/or stab. Since arrows can pierce, that seems logical. So I was wondering, cannon balls don't really seem sharp, rather blunt. Might this make monsters that are weak vs crush also weak vs cannon balls? Seems like a valid assumption, right? - Looking at game statistics there is a value for crush defence, stab defence and ranged defence. Common sense made it so that monsters with low stab defence have low ranged defence and vice versa. However the cannon acts as a ranged weapon, so judging by my knowledge of how the game works it would be indistinguishable from arrows. THARKON 20:17, July 5, 2011 (UTC)

- For monsters you sadly can't, I wish they updated Monster Examine to include it so it actually has a use. But I can only assume monsters share the same stats as we do, just different values of course. We don't have a different ranged attack or defence bonus stat for a sling, bow, handcannon etc. either. 1-40 ranged w cannon?[]
does anyone know roughly how many cannonbals it takes to get from 1 to 40 range ?
because i realy want to make a 10 hp ranger, but i dont feel like spending Mil's on cannonballs when i dont have a clue how much the total wil cost me.
the total xp is 37k (or actualy 30k since i wil be using 100% xp boost for the first 14k to lvl 30)

- 100% exp bonus? If that is from the referral program you are evil. Anyway it depends on how high you hit with them, since Ranged exp is based on the amount of damage you did. For level 40 you'll need to deal 186,120 damage.THARKON 20:19, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
