mind rune problems[]
I have 56 rc and am crafting 140 mind runes at the alter, as per the diary. I have tried twice and the task will not update. Is this a glitch? --Asbduhas 05:40, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

- JAGEX must of updated this as I just extinguished then relit a sapphire lantern and the Achievement Diary accepted this, though I am unsure about the Emerald Lantern, I edited the information on the sapphire lantern and left the Emerald Lantern Information as is. --122.107.47.110 06:53, 9 August 2009 (UTC)D1612
Inaccurate edit[]
"Due to Yew or Magic Seed required to complete this diary, prices quickly rose even before the achievement diary was released."
They rose due to the quest "while guthix sleeps" not because of the achievement diary. I know because i was one of the people making the prices rise ;)
- Lol...Think about it, If prices rose before it was released, how would they even know it would be needed? >.<

I'm quite sure what the anonymous user meant above was that the yew and magic seeds rose because people grew yew and magic trees to train farming for the 65 farming requirement needed for while guthix sleeps. C.ChiamTalk 10:29, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

- This is technically a "bug", where the "official knowledge base" article states that you can't (in this case "shouldn't") use the assist feature in order to complete this portion of the achievement diary. Use at your own risk.... as sometimes Jagex punishes players who deliberately exploit known bugs. --Robert Horning 14:11, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
sweetcorn not working?[]
I planted sweetcorn, made it grow, watered it regurarly, had a scarecrow... Still had no Achievement diary update. There are people with me who have the same problem. Anyone any idea what I done wrong? Therealmagicrune 13:46, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- I had the same problem but after my Sweetcorn grew a little bit, I dug out and re-planted the Scarecrow which worked. Hope that helps!

- Clearly there is a proper sequence to follow, but I am not sure of it. A friend of mine had to re-plant 4 times to hit the right sequence, yet I got it on the first try. My order: I weeded, composted, and planted a herb seed (probably useless, but I was in the neighborhood so I wanted to max my farming xp). I weeded, composted, planted corn, then watered in the east plot. I weeded, composted, planted corn, then watered in the west plot. Last, I weeded and planted my scarecrow in the flower plot. - I also had the same problem. It turns out that you have to plant the scarecrow WHILE the corn is growing, not before. Plant the sweetcorn, water it, and wait for the first growth spurt. Then plant the scarecrow, and the task will be complete. You don't even need to wait for the corn to completely grow.
Or you could do what the two people above me did, who I conveniently had edit conflicts with. >.< Tien 14:00, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

66 Runecrafting Spicy stews? or Assist system[]
I assume that any stat boost won't work for the lvl 70 prayer for the hard tasks, but will a spicy stew work to get lvl 66 runecrafting for the 196 air runes? Or for any of the other skill requirements? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Noble fauf (talk).
- Actually, stat boosts might just work for prayer. I need to check, but you might want to try out the Spa facilities at Oo'glog (requires As a First Resort... quest to be completed). I need to try that out at least. It seems like this might not work, but it is worth trying.
- As for the runecrafting stat boost.... you might want to have somebody "assist" you in the effort (not using the skill assist feature, however). It requires eating the stew, trading the bowl for some rune essence, and crafting the runes in a short period of time before the effects wear off. An alternative would be to bring a small ess pouch, eat the stew, drop two ess + bowl, drop the pouch, empty the pouch, drop the pouch, then grab the two ess to quickly craft the runes. Both sound rather complicated to me.
- Either that or bring a beast of burden with you that carries the stews, where you do an ess drop, eat the stews, then grab the ess real quick. Just some ideas worth trying.

- It works i did it myself at 61 runecrafting what i did was i made orange spicy stew at falador bank had the stew and 27 essence in inventory then summoned an abbyssal pet too store 1 extra essence (a normal beast of burden cannot hold pure essence or a stew that has had spice added too it because the spiy stews are untradable). When i got to the altar i drank the stew checked my stats page to see if i got 66 runecrafting. if i didnt i just ran bank to falador bank to make another stew. eventually i did get 66 runecrafting i dropprd the bowl and withdrew the extra pure essence from my pet and crafted 196 air runes. I edited the main article hope you dont mind. So you could also have a friend waiting for you at the altar to trade the empty bowl for an extra essence when you get 66 runecrafting from the stew if you dont have the summoning level to summon an abbysal pet.--Teblin1 18:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

- According to a recent edit made by Ippy97 the assist system DOES work can anyone else confirm this? I heard that the assist system did work on this part of the diary on the first day the diary was released but jagex fixed it so assist couldnt be used the day after.--Teblin1 16:59, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Volatile Hammer[]
I crafted the limbs with my Volatile hammer, the sound "sounded" and it said I completed a task but the Diary itself wont accept that. So just use a normal Hammer.

Explorer's Ring Used?[]
Ive recently been runecrafting with my Explorers Ring. I have below 66 runecrafting and managed to make 166(?) air runes. After looking through the article, I wasnt able to find this mentioned. Not 100% sure if this is a usable method as cannot try it till Christmas. If someone would like to try, note that it takes a couple loads as the Explorer's Ring's boost is random. 56 Runecrafting[]
as we all know, you can now make double runes without having the proper level. So, is it possible to achieve making 140 mind runes at once without having 56 runecrafting? Could I do it at 54 runecrafting? Metapig 22:10, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
- Yes it is possible to do at level 54 with boosts, as explained in the table description.
- The practicalities of doing this make it reasonably hard to do, since you have to teleport to the altar, drop an essence, remove 2 essence from a pouch, drop the pouch and then pick up the essence from the floor and craft the rune. This means that at this level you have to time the boost so that it will not run out by the time you do all this, which using the Oldak method is difficult seeing the boost is random and requires some conversation. Spicy stews may be a safer bet if you can be bothered to take the time to make them and get a good boost. Otherwise it may be worth getting to 55 runecrafting and then using a +2 boost from Oldak, this makes it a bit easier. Of course, if you're question was only theoretically I apologise for the rambling. Henneyj 01:05, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Elite task rewards[]
In addition to the mentioned rewards, I received 12800 coins. Can someone confirm this? Also might have received coins for completing Varrock Elite tasks. Not sure about that as I disconnected when Vannaka asked, if I want to have my rewards in bank or inventory.

farming amulet[]

Rune mysteries quest not actually necessary in some cases[]
If you have finished Burthorpe tasks up to the point where you are knighted, you can complete Making My Mind Up - without finishing the Rune Mysteries quest. I'm not sure how to state this in the table though. This is the same with all the other tasks which require Rune Mysteries, like Slippery When Wet in Lumbridge/Draynor Tasks and Essential Facilitator in Varrock Tasks and The Essence of Magic in Ardougne Tasks.
