Can a member contributor please add in how to make construction components for Oodan Arrow? Thanks.

Cooking flavours.

We need someone to write a script to calculate the maximum points and the ingredients needed for any 3 combinations of flavours. Basicly, given 3 flavours, you should calculate the amount of points every ingredient gives, and then return the top 6. There is already a tabel with values for each ingredient in place. Skyeam (talk) 12:42, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

...Huh? I think the table is fine as it is... Also, please use your signature next time you post on the talk page.

Jameswizard6 (talk) 12:39, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

I was working on that! Didn't have an account yet... I think the table is mighty fine (I made it), but not handy enough to get the best possible reward from cooking. And I can't really make another table with the best 4 items for every combination of 3 flavours, because that would take 5*4 =20 possible combinations of flavours..Skyeam (talk) 12:42, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

If the table would become sortable like it should, everyone can get the right flavours determined easily. My contributionsTHARKON 12:56, July 11, 2012 (UTC)
Well, you made the table sortable (I'm thankful for that), but the problem is that the best food is determined by more than just 1 flavour. Ideally, for the flavours x,y and z, you should have 6 ingredients with primary, secondary and tertiary flavours equals to x,y and z. Sadly, this is only the case for 3 ingredients, the other 3 must be determined by fulfilling as much as possible. Something like this would be quite handy:
Choose the 3 flavours: [ Dropdown flavour 1 ] [ Dropdown flavour 2 ] [ Dropdown flavour 3 ] [ Calculate ]
Result after calculate:
Best ingredients for flavour 1, 2 and 3
Points Ingredients
7 Ingredient x, Ingredietn y, Ingredient z
6 Ingredient r, Ingredient s, Ingredient t, Ingredient u...
5 ...
4 ...
3 ..
2 ..
1 Ingredient g...
That way one can easily see which ingredients would be the best to choose. The formula for calculating the points of each ingredient would be fairly straightforward:
points = chosen.savoury * ingredient.savoruy + chosen.spicy * ingredient.spicy + ... + chosen.bitter * ingredient.bitter ;
For which chosen is 0 or 1, depending on wether or not it is one of the 3 flavours required for the food, and ingredient is the value that ingredient has for that kind of flavour (as seen in the table).

Contribution points?

Do the different levels of materials give different number of contribution points?

I handed in gold medals and got 60 points

but the iron girders give 60 points as well so does anyone know what the steel girders give?

Steel girders give 60 points as well. If it's true that iron girders actually give 60 points, then I'm not really sure why Jagex bothered to make a distinction...

Looks like I made a mistake, the iron girders only give 50 points

Savoury, sour, sweet

Savoury, sour, sweet [1] [2] [3] [4] 23

Replace Yoghurt with Rhubarb, Mint or Pepper and you get 24.

Spin tickets

You can get spin tickets from doing the chores (although I doubt cooking since it's a specialized method). I got one mining and logic would assume you could also get one from smithing/construction. Jetdeagon (talk) 23:39, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting. This would also indicate that strange rocks are obtainable, since spin tickets for skilling only come from things that can give rocks. Michagogo (talk) 10:02, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

When I talk to Oomad arrow, he just says come back later?

I think f2p can only do the preparations once, not once a day. Might just be a glitch though.

It'd be useful to have more data on these aspects. Here's what I got:

steel girders - 60 points - 710xp in mining (failed to log separate xp)
iron girders - 50 points - 750 totalxp - 250 xp in mining and 500 xp in construction

Getting Max Points

Is the only way to get all the points you need to buy everything is by doing chores every single day? I can barely do it once a month

I expect the Gielnor Games will reward points as well. Magic-iconAximillioRanged-icon 03:10, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

At the rate of point gain compared to the total price of everything in the shop, it'd be a HUGE mistake on Jagex's part if this was the only thing that gave points. If not the Gielinor Games, other opportunities should arise. 98.249.218.100 10:03, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
