A Jmod said in the forums that only wins increase the chance to get a piece of the armour instead the total games

77.188.229.19 15:26, August 25, 2011 (UTC)

This is confirmed on RS KB (http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Hybrid_Armour) in the section 'Obtaining the armour': "This random chance [of obtaining a piece of armour] scales depending on how many games you have won. The more games you win, the better the chance you have of obtaining a piece of armour". This also suggests that the chances of obtaining the same component of a different set is more likely than obtaining the component for the initial set. 219.90.142.248 15:34, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

Once the guy says "Fight!" your opponent may leave and you get a chance for a body just like if you kill him - I can confirm that I like my cls! Arkman20 Talk HSAnd my ccb too! 00:59, September 5, 2011 (UTC)

Partial bonuses

"When playing the above activities, you will deal extra damage against other players. For each piece you have on, you will deal an extra 3% of damage."

Source for this? I haven't read/been told anything about bonuses when mixing pieces so I'm wondering if it's even true I like my cls! Arkman20 Talk HSAnd my ccb too! 20:03, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

According to http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Hybrid_Armour, each item does contribute to extra damage, but whether each set contributes 3% equally is unclear. Other sets such as lumberjack, mining outfit etc, generally put a higher weighting on the body, legs and then helm respectively to boots and gloves. However, the 'set bonus' is described as being 15%. Each of these contributions only apply when played in the PvP minigames in which the armour pieces are obtained (thus excluding Pest Control). 219.90.142.248 15:25, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

FOG Gloves F2P

Can anyone reliable confirm that it is possible to obtain the gloves in a F2P FOG world....it seems highly unlikely...but would be awesome if it was true.

According to the first line of http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Hybrid_Armour, 'Hybrid armour is only available to RuneScape Members'. I find it highly unlikely that F2P players would have a chance of receiving a 'members-only item' to clog up their already limited bank space. 219.90.142.248 15:27, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

I can almost definitely confirm that the gloves can not be obtained in F2P Fog - however the wins still count towards the total, and increase you chances of obtaining the gloves. I went 300 F2p fog wins dry without a single pair of gloves, on my first win in p2p I was offered the chance for a pair, and offered again on my third. Given that, unless you are boosting in p2p, it is much faster to get ~150-160 wins in FOG in a f2p world and then hop to members.

Hi, I didn't know where else to post this, but I wanted to confirm the gloves were in fact F2P. I was FoG'n a ton upon their release, racking up nearly 9 sets of each. I am a pure F2P player of couse. Also it was not patched for a few days if I remember correctly. I still have them in my bank to this day, so yeah. Just to avaoid any confusion.136.183.244.207 21:07, November 12, 2012 (UTC)Sergji

Explanation?

Am I going crazy, or is there any explanation for why (I think) I witnessed a level-3 at Soul Wars wearing a Vanguard body and legs? --User:Limxzero/Signature 17:13, October 4, 2011 (UTC)

-Yes 1)you're either on the effects of drugs or 2) it was ancient ceremonial armour.

Mixing with other sets?

I have looked around and have been unable to find any kind of information regarding the mixing of hybrid armour with other sets, most notably void knight armour. I can think of quite a number of possible mixes, such as void armour with the deflector and hybrid body (while inside soul wars). In this case, would the 3% bonuses from the hybrid stack on the bonuses given from void? 71.229.160.3 11:55, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

The bonus from Hybrid armours is seperate to that of Void knight armour, so mixing the two would provide an extra 3% bonus. Bear in mind that you can also wear the boots for a total extra 6%, as there are no Void knight boots. 88.104.103.80 15:29, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't work in Castle Wars (proof?)

So I realize in the trivia, that it states that the armour does not give damage boosts in castle wars. I highly doubt this, when I wear full vanguard in CW, I seem to hit rapid 500's with my rapier. If anyone can post proof of a max hit being too low with it on, or a max hit being high with vanguard on, maybe we can prove it. Jnacci 00:12, December 13, 2011 (UTC)

There is currently no proof for this, so I'm removing it from the trivia section. If someone does find conclusive proof that the damage bonus is not applied in Castle Wars, can they please post it here and not just change the trivia section back to how it was? Thanks 88.104.103.80 15:32, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

soul wars (hybrid bottoms)

according to video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF6_k6z0ZcA it IS required to click through the dialog after a game so i corrected the information Lathow 08:53, December 19, 2011 (UTC)

There is no Vanguard Body Top in that stats tables at the bottom of the page.

I've gotten 3 hybrid legs from sw so far, and I didn't click through for any of them. Summoning-icon To3cutt3r Talk HS Log Summoning-icon 22:19, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Since when does rswiki support boosting?

Incorrect information regarding Hybrid tops from Tzhaar Fight Pits

Someone edited the page with this information: "Due to an update, your opponent leaving before or after the fight signal will no longer count as a win or give you a chance to obtain a hybrid top. You must physically kill them in order to gain a chance of accessing the drop interface." This information isn't cited and lacks any form of proof. I have very recently done a very short test (lasting simply two fights). Neither time did I kill my opponent, and the second time I got a hybrid top menu. As such, this information is incorrect and I am going to remove it from the page, and any other pages which may contain it. If we have any evidence that such an update was implemented, please post it here and send a bug report to Jagex. 31.53.80.69 15:37, June 4, 2012 (UTC) Kyogre Blast

Castle war's question

To get the Hybrid helm from castle wars, do you have to win every game before you get the trigger for it or can you tie and it still be a succeful chance to get it? klaus 18:01, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Wins are needed to increase the chance of gaining the helmets.

Clarification

I'd like some clarification. I realize that apparently nothing but an absolute win (as in, ties don't count) will give a chance for and also increase the chances for a piece. However, do losses or ties directly affect the chance, in that they'll lower or reset the chances of getting a piece? Also, can you get a duplicate of hybrid armour even if you already have it? Thank you. 98.249.218.100 08:00, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Point A - I highly doubt
Point B - Yes, here are people with hundreds of the same piece.
Hope I helped :) MolMan 08:04, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
You did. Thank you. I suppose I can deal with spares. Bank space holders are always nice. 98.249.218.100 11:41, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

Fight Pit Question

Do you actually have to kill the player or can they just leave after the signal? I've been getting mixed responses to this. Any confirmation as of now?75.22.52.165 09:37, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

Pest Control Exemption

It has been alleged that because hybrid armor is specifically stated to assist in damaging other players in mini games, that it will have no effect in Pest Control, since this game does not involve killing other players. Yet I am wondering if the armor does in fact help in damaging pests in any way, and if it does not, can anyone provide a legitimate source specifically claiming otherwise?
