Hieroglyphs vs an alphabet with new letter shapes
From what I have heard of from Wikipedia and Youtube videos on writing systems, Egyptian hieroglyphs could be used to spell things phonetically, or they could be used to represent concepts or words.
From looking at sundial near Menaphos, and the transliteration of the long text in English found in the Golden Path, it appears that the Menaphite script is based on a 26 letter Latin alphabet, but with new symbols for each letter. I propose that all mentions of the text being hieroglyphs should be changed to read that it is an alphabetic script. --Feenix Libra (talk) 23:55, May 31, 2017 (UTC)
- Thing is that the "disguised" Latin alphabet is only used in Golden Path and the Ozan quests. Elsewhere in-game, we have hieroglyphic characters, and there us also the notion of "ancient Menaphosian", which could be either of the two. 05:34, June 1, 2017 (UTC)
