F2P?[]

I hope they make it F2P. Jagex aready screwed up Stealing Creation--leira77 20:23, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

It better be f2p! I`m 12 yrs old and i've been waiting years for Jagex to come up with some new content that i can actually play for free.........the other thing is I love strategy games, so they better not screw this up like stealing creation.- July 7, 2009

so your saying f2p are new players? kate99999123?

New players are newbs, not noobs. Noobs are generally annoying or stupid people. Which many f2p are (more f2p than members, at least). Most f2p are new compared to members anyway. On f2p worlds 95% of people are green to my level 96, in members it's definitely a minority.

I apologize. Kat99999123 Talk EditCount GuestBook 22:25, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

It's safe. There's no way you can die. Tedjuh10 - Talk 14:45, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
It's safe, because you yourself are never in combat, only the squads you hire are. If they are defeated, you have to expend additional resource credits to resupply them, but you won't lose any personally equipped items (and you can't carry anything in the inventory besides the contracts, so no losses there, even if you were in combat) --Jimfromtx 08:05, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

For the game to actually begin though there needs to be 20 people in the lobby - a mod on the forum said this was to prevent players from just getting three friends to forfeit during a game, causing the player to win. Samrawuk 20:36, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Safe or Unsafe[]

This minigame is entirely safe, and has no drawbacks (unless you should happen to forfeit mid-game, in which case you will lose all troops, lose your bets, and not gain any rank). Also, this minigame is members only.

Quest kit update[]

according to the runescape minigames section for mobilizing armies, there are more than one quest kits, and more than one ranks, so maybe a little more updating is in order for someone whos a higher rank in the minigame.

plus theres an extra [image http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=946] on the section that shows another quest kit. Davidzx 02:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, this is true, and confirmed by Jagex. However, because the Rating system in Moblising Armies is currently very slow, there is no-one who has achieved even the 'Officer'-ranking, as of yet. ArnoudX 10:14, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Glitch??[]

Apparently there was a glitch in MA where if you went into the tutorial with items/cash, you didn't get it back[1][2][3]. I don't really know much about it though so I was seeing if anyone else knows about it. Evil Yanks talk10:26, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Can more than two hit?[]

Whenever I attack someone I only see two splash points, no matter how many squads are attacking. Does this mean only two are visible, or that only two of all the 'attacking' squads will be actually attacking? JaydenB 11:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

This is just a guess, but I think only two are visible. --Nightgunner1 11:16, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

When you attack with all troops on 1 unit you often don't see splashes at all but the opponent dies extremly fast so its only a display glitch.--Ruderion 19:45, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

How d'ya guyz like this game?[]

Basically the other three game-modes are different and offer a lot more fun, but they are broken at the current moment... ArnoudX 17:48, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

They are working now. There is something of a learning curve in this game, and I am still climbing it, but different scenarios need a different mix. If you are in a game with folks who are being too unagressive, you can often take one or two of your units, attack one, then "run away" to the other side's encampments. In the siege scenario, watch out if you see someone hanging back not attacking the wall; he is waiting for you to get damaged by the castle. I haven't figured out yet if the catapult is effective enough to do the main portion of work breaking down the wall, but if so you could go with mostly light troops in the siege to just gather rocks. 198.175.199.16 08:52, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

  • It's effective enough, I attacked the wall with a few units, but they died rather quickly to the tower defenders, so I ended up doing most of my damage via catapults, keeping the last 4 units running back and forth constantly. Won, too. --Jimfromtx 08:07, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

If you have troops hacking at the wall and also fire catapults, will your catapults do additional damage to your troops?

Add investment credits to each investable item description?[]

Seeing that each item that can be invested into credit has its own credit value, should each item's value be added into their item description? It will take a while, with the raw number of items that can be invested, but will help a lot for those needing refernce to good items to invest. --Red Scout25 16:37, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Make pages[]

There are 20 "Operator" NPCs that still don't have a page. They are features in the different level and game's waiting rooms. Also, there are items called "dwarf/elf/goblin squad (heavy/light) (level 1-5) (normal/destroyed)" resulting in possible 60 combinations. There is also 30 more NPCs called "dwarf/elf/goblin squad (heavy/light) (level 1-5)". While the items and NPC equivalent can be condensed into one page on each, the Operators will need an individual page for each of them. I don't really know why I am talking about this, I just noticed it. Evil Yanks talk 11:30, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Meanings of Levels?[]

The listing for the stats of different squads state numbers for their "discipline levels" but not what a discipline level does?

I also wonder whether there is a difference in the rate of finding stuff between heavy and light troops, and if it matters whether another trooper is going over the same ground (better success if more scattered?) Finally, does anyone know how much of a bonus there is for attacking from behind or from special terrain, and if different terrains favor different amounts (and/or different troops)? 198.175.199.16 11:39, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Great questions! Evil Yanks talk 11:59, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm guessing that for the special terrain, a squad gains a defense boost if on the best kind. It would probably be dwarfs on rock terrain, goblins on sand, and elves on leaves.Guthix1110 12:03, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Additional question, if you promote all your squads you go to a new game, ie level 2 squads fight level 2 squads. Is this true if you only promote one squad? If so, that seems like a suicider's dream strategy - promote one or two squads and designate them as heavy troops, then leave the rest at level 1 as light troops...? 198.175.199.229 09:14, 16 July 2009 (UTC) To answer my own question, all troops must be promoted or demoted to the same level. I have yet to see enough people playing at level 2 to know what real differences there are.

Unnecessary section - Ranking points[]

After removing "Ranking points" I was sent a message saying I was vandalizing. The ranking points section contains hardly any information and that information is already mentioned under "Winning" in "How to Play." Does anyone else think it is redundant? Hay 05:33, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Spoils value?[]

I was looking at the tables telling what the spoils are for each level of rewards, and I was wondering if it would be possible to use the current GE price to add a "Total value" column, like, for example, if you get 2 grimy harralander, and they're worth (completely random number here) 1500 each, the total value column would return 3000. It seems somewhat similar to the table on the blast furnace page that shows total unnoting costs for a bar, so maybe it would work? But I'm not that knowledgeable at making tables on the wiki, so I would leave that to a more experienced editor. Still think it would be a good idea, though, so that at a glance, one could see which spoils would be a better value in each rewards level. --Jimfromtx 08:11, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

I can do it. I have made a few calculators before. Evil Yanks talk 08:23, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

One question, though, is it really 0 ranarr? Cause that seems rather...odd. That would be like giving up one of your three choices. "Meh, I don't really want any more stuff, so here's a few extra of my points". It's gotta be at least one or two, right? Someone with that rank please check it, I'm nowhere near even the ground floor, only like rank 11 o_O --Jimfromtx 00:28, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

0 Grimy ranarr is indeed an option, I assume when the price of ranarr is closer to 10,000 then it will rise to 1 ranarr. That or it will be removed completely 118.93.61.145 02:29, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
There is actually 0 ranarr in the picture of the spoils section. I removed it originally assuming that it was a mistake, though added it again when I saw the picture. Evil Yanks talk 02:53, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Patch Notes 15/07/09: Ensured that, no matter what the spoils are from Mobilising Armies, you'll always get at least one of the item.
I assume it's fixed now, haven't logged on to check. 118.93.58.85 17:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Increase in value of commodities[]

The release of Mobilising Armies caused the prices of many goods to rise dramatically, as they were purchased to invest in the minigame. (A good picture to add would be of Steel Bar in the Grand Exchange price lookup, 180 day history.)

Shop Images in Rewards Section[]

I don't believe these images belong with the rewards section and should instead be moved to their proper shop NPC page. But since they do relate to the section they are in, I want to ask first, do you believe the shop/spoils of war images should stay in the Rewards section of this article? Also, I require the inventory images for the Commander and War-chief shirts, trousers, and skirts to finish the reward charts. If you can take a screen shot and crop the image down a little, I will add the transparency and do the final cropping. Contact me on my talk page if you have one of these images you want fixed up ;). Tetris50 Talk | Ctrb | Edit 01:22, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Fastest Reward - Rank Combo (for me at least, you can share others if you want (could it be added?))[]

I play seige, and I play with lighter squads and invest 10k(faster deaths). Then I suicide all my squads bar one, (by attacking the wall) then when the clock strikes 23minutes i attack with my last squad and hopefully s/he'll die at 22 and I'll get 12.1k reward points. If it's not 22 minutes (maybe if its not 23, iunno) then you'll get 10.1k, and you'll get like 6.1k if you die at 26minutes.

Maybe someone should just record the time - point score :P JaydenB 22:44, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

My understanding is that anything over 4 minutes is the same for rank points. For reward, I had thought it confirmed that betting extra money only increases your take if you won the scenario? I haven't been suiciding, just playing to win, so I can't confirm that one. 198.175.199.92 09:59, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

The longer you last, the more reward credits you win. :) Powers38 おはようヾ(´・ω・`) 11:10, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Some of the strategy sections seem to imply that if you are trying to gain rank fast, you should try to last over 20 minutes, which doesn't make sense to me. If you want more reward credits, you would want to last as long as possible and have effective combat when you do combat (effective combat seems to also have some effect) but if you are looking to gain rank quickly, you want to last over 4 minutes, but as little over as you can, no? 198.175.199.81 06:57, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Even that is doubtful, the maximum time bonus seems to be 2000. Time bonus starts negative though. Se /rewards for a little more info. Rich Farmbrough, 10:58 3 March 2010 (GMT).

Homepage Picture[]

Do we really need a picture of the homepage telling us about the extended agiolity courses and so on? I think a picture of the news article would be much better. Also, can we get a picture of some MA gameplay, screenshots aren't that hard to take, surely?!

Imbue rings[]

Can enchanted rings be imbued or already imbued rings be enchanted? this would make Rings of wealth be useful

Only unenchanted rings can be imbued.  @Gaz#7521 09:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Wrong math in investments section[]

In the investments section, in the recommended items table, the math is off for iron nails. The credits/coin ratio is 10/14, but the ratio expressed in the next column reads 1.14. I'm not sure where this number comes from. For any item where you gain more credits per spent coins, the ratio should be no less than 1, and that's true for each item where credits gained is indeed greater than coins spent. For any item where credits gained is less than coins spent, the ratio should be less than 1. So with the iron nails, you gain 10 credits for every 14 coins. That means the ratio should be less than 1. Expressed to 2 digits, the ratio should be 0.71 or 10/14. I don't know how to fix this since I'm not familiar with wikia-style wiki syntax. But I thought I'd bring this up so this error can be fixed. 129.82.85.99 19:39, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Fixed. It was working out 16/(iron nail price) rather than 10/(iron nail price) by mistake.  @Gaz#7521 20:12, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

It said on the article, a clan chat Fast Game had been made to speed up game times, or something along those lines. I searched up "Fast game" in the forums, and there is no thread. I also tried to join that cc, and it seems that it does not exist. Should that point be deleted in the article? Perhaps the cc shut down. There use to be a clan chat called "Fast MA" but it was shut down, basically because Jagex kept locking their post saying that suiciding was against the spirit of the game. I hear many people say you need to be in the game for 4 minutes. This is also said in the main article under the topic "Ranking points". "The game must last at least 4 minutes for you to get any ranks."

However it is actualy 3 minutes. The game start at 29:59 and you can end it at 26:59. Note that we dont see the seconds. - M, 15:23, july 22, 2011 (UTC)
