Clarification on XP and Casts per hour[]

In the article, it states that Plank Make can be cast 1800 times per hour and 162k Magic experience will be gained. That sounds completely implausible to me. By my calculations, the profit from Mahogany logs using plank make would be 546 per log, if you could cast the spell 1800 times per hour (30 per minute) then you could generate 46800 planks per hour (1800 casts times an inventory of 26 logs). If each plank showed a profit of 546 each, then you would be netting 25.5 mil per hour profit. That just doesn't sound realistic. If you could make that much profit per hour, everyone in the game would be all over that. Am I missing something here? Maybe the author meant to say 1800 planks produced per hour, but that doesn't seem right either. That would be 70 casts per hour, or about one per minute. I've never done plank make, so I was doing research to see if it would be a viable option for leveling my magic from 96 to 99. I guess I'll go do some experiments and find out.

Plank make is a single-target spell, similar to High-alching, as opposed to a single-cast, such as Humidify. You have to cast it once for each LOG, not once per inventory.184.17.80.133 17:49, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Question[]

Should the quest requirement listed in the infobox be changed to exclude Lunar Diplomacy since it is a requirement for Dream Mentor? It seems a bit redundant to me...

i think it's just a reminder for those who didn't do Lunar Diplomacy.

Ambiance Sound - I think I'm going Mad[]

I am standing next to someone with using plank make... and it seems to be playing some kinda buzzing airhorn sound... Occasionally I'll hear it play a section from Scape Theme.. Am I going insane or is this ACTUALLY HAPPENING? Em lost 22:54, July 10, 2010 (UTC)

Changed Animation[]

Graphical

The animation for the Plank Make spell has been made less bright and flashes less.Sir Renitee's sitting animation has been updated. Sigmund's head no longer stretches when idle. Ranging Stomp no longer leaves arrows floating above him. The statue base in Enahkra's Lament no longer has flickering issues. A tile outside Varrock Museum no longer hides dropped items. Several flag animations have been updated.


Quests and Tasks

Some dialogue at the beginning of Troll Stronghold has been altered to stop repeating certain phrases. Killing a highwayman south of Falador now correctly completes the Task. A typo on the examine information on the draining machine in Elemental Workshop IV has been fixed.

Activities and Distractions

Vecna skulls are now allowed inside Soul Wars and Castle Wars. It is now possible to cure a jade vine plant using the Cure Plant and Remote Farming spells. Tears of Guthix will no longer ask players for more than 100k XP before returning.


Miscellaneous

The Disruption Shield effect no longer carries over onto free worlds. Dungeoneering’s Home teleport and Vengeance spells are now sortable by category on the magic spellbook interface. The Cure Me and Cure Group spells no longer state the need for law runes inside Daemonheim. The Adventurer's Log will now state the Dungeoneering boss monster names killed more accurately when more than one of the same boss are killed in one session. Trying to walk around the leprechaun in Lumbridge no longer causes the player to stand still for a couple of seconds. A typo when using the brine sabre underwater has been fixed. Two typos on some clan job titles have been fixed. Player character names will now appear correctly on login. It is no longer possible to chop a tree over a fence north of the Draynor Village jail. The leaf-bladed sword no longer states Smoking Kills as a requirement in the skill advance guide. Two Temple Trekking characters had their voices the wrong way round. Fyiona Fray now sounds female; the adventurer now sounds male. Familiars can no longer attack Slayer creatures if the player's Slayer level has been drained. Minotaurs are no longer grouped together on the Summoning pouch creation interface. Trivia Randomness[]

Is it just me or is that last bit of trivia kind of random? The one that says "A player must cast Plank Make exactly 104,853 times to go from 86 - 99 Magic." -To me, I feel like this isn't random. This is a very viable way to train mage, considering the high exp/hour as well as the money. Therefore, some of the people who want to train up to 99 might use this as soon as they hit 86.
