Yeah, I did this with 1 ring yesterday but that's all I could buy. But I've had an offer up so lets see if I have any when I get home. {{Signatures/Jediadam4}} 18:38, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

==Ring of life trigger capped?==

Did some testings and it seems to work below 10% hp but capped at 250, this means if you have a max hp above 2500 it will only teleport at below 250 life.{{User:MrGW1337/Signature}} 18:01, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

This talk page is for discussing the Ring of life page.

Only activates under 250 hp?

I tested with and without armour, and in all cases it activated in the range of 248-250. I spent an hour doing this. There is no way the 10% rule still applies. 98.194.79.190 07:49, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

When does it work?

I've been wondering: the way the article puts it about when the ring of life activates seems purposefully written to cover up any hint of the writer being unsure if the ring of life activates when you are technically at less than 10% of your hp, i.e. 8 hp and you have 82 hp.

Look at the following 2 paragraphs from the article:

"Warning: Rings of life will not trigger if the wearer is hit for more than 10% of their maximum Hitpoints. For example, if a player with 70 Hitpoints is down to 10 Hitpoints and is dealt 10 damage, he or she will die. However, if he or she is dealt between four and nine damage, the ring will activate.

Calculating: If 10% of your HP is the monsters max hit you will be able to survive any attack it may bring on. Example: If you are at the level 50 Giant Spiders, their max hit is 8, and your HP is 80, then even if the spider hits an 8 when you have 9 HP you will be fine. So its as simple as looking at their max hit and 10% of your HP to calculate if you will be safe."

See how the last sentence of the 1st paragraph is unclear with the "between" word? Does it actually mean between (3-8 dmg) or does it mean 4-9 dmg?

And in the 2nd paragraph, the 1st sentence contradicts the rest of the whole article that says you need less than 10% hp to activate the ring. The example in that paragraph doesn't really prove the 1st sentence because it should say that if you are at the giant spiders and you have 80 hp, you should survive the instant you get down to 8 hp or under. Instead, that sentence just states the obvious.

So back to my earlier question: does 10% of your hp include decimals, or is it rounded or truncated (truncated means always rounded down to the nearest integer, which is the default action for decimals in Java programming)? I happen to train on those level 50 giant spiders, coincidentally, and want to know if their max hit is 8, and I have 82 hp, if the ring of life will activate when I'm at 8 hp or less. Because 10% of 82 is technically 8.2 and 8 < 8.2, but if Java truncates such decimals then the ring of life wouldn't activate at 8 hp unless you had at least 90 hp, based on the article. So would it activate if 10% of your hp is .9 or less more than your current hp, like in my case? Dragon claw Zezzima Talk Edit # SkillsFile:Turmoil.gif|Yay turmoil! 19:33, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
