Rants return[]

High Level Forums[]
Hey there, recently there has been the creation of "High Level Forums" which are private. Private forums which are meant for people with 99 in all skills OR for clan leaders of well established clan. Anyway someone could add this to the article? Dr Locust 02:26, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Criticism[]
Is it possible to get some sources for this criticism, as that'd at least show why it's 'many people' which is a huge qualifier of what might be, or might not be, the case.

That particular forum is a good place where players who use these "Official Forums" discuss their views on it as well as make suggestions for improving it.
It would be nice too see examples, or else a suggestion, on how those things can be done better via the critical review of the service here.
Unfortunately, there are no official news sources for this criticism. Which is why it feels wrong to say 'many people' when we don't have any statistical figures to back that statement up here.
As for those volunteers who moderate the forums greeting players 'with disdain', I doubt Jagex would allow any player to be a moderator should they ever 'disdain' another player in the true sense of the word.
You could highlight that such criticism would be taken very seriously by Jagex, if based in fact, and should be reported via "Comment on our service" link on the front-page of the RuneScape site. If players could provide evidence that any volunteer is doing Jagex and the RuneScape community a disservice it's likely they'd be very interested.
Maybe this article could go some way to identifying the facts behind any of these issues, as well as helping to solve them.

I can't seem to be able to access the forums for some reason, and when clicking the redirect to go to the forums here, it sends you right back to this article. Is my comp just messy, or what?

Adding individual pages for each forum[]
I was wondering if an individual page should be made for each forum?? I could easily write the page for about 5 of the Forums since i spend more time on the forums then i do in-game??

- I don't think 1 page for each forum would be very good, it would just make more stub articles. How about a page named "RuneScape Forums/Directory", divided up into sections briefly (1 paragraph or so...) describing each forum - it's purpose, problems, controversies etc.

Forums and Your Inbox[]
Under the External Links section at the bottom of the page there is a link to a RuneScape KBase article labeled 'Forums and Your Inbox'. The link doesn't work.

RS HD graphics update[]
When High Definition was released and they redid the front page, the forums graphics also got revamped. Do you think that the graphics update should go under the versions heading, somewhere else or just not go there at all. Also, I have a few images of the actual forums and the inside of a thread from before the update (i don't have one of the homepage though). Total Revamp of the forums section.[]
I plan over the next few weeks, maybe months to totally revamp the entire forums section, with some new sections added. I have already added the entire features of the forums section. I will put ideas here so people can say if they think that is pointless or should be put on its own separate. Some of these things
- Add the RS HD forums graphics update to versions of the forums
- Expand on the forums directory. Maybe put it on its own page??
- Once expanded Forums Directory, add uses, advantages and disadvantages for every forum (i am not sure about this)
- Uses of the forums??
- Major Events (Not sure about this)
- Commonly suggested forum ideas(like showing your post count beneath your name or making your my profile page customisable) (not sure about this either)

I've seen in the forums, people that have their Player Avatar "angry".Is this a glitch, or something?

An irrelevant comment[]

Criticism[]
I've removed the criticism section in its entirety for now. It contained absolutely no valid criticism. Part of it was very biased and clearly written by someone with an axe to grind with F-Mods, and the part about Rants wasn't even criticism..it was a history. I'll be back later to take a look and possibly rewrite it, but for now, there's no reason to leave such a blatant example of what we do not write on an encyclopedia on an important article like this one. if you guys want a section for the EoC unlimited access forum or the clan leaders forum, i can grab a screenie for the board index for them. edit: the EoC unlimited forums are closing down all sub-sections and archiving them, so the GCD will remain open...i can still grab a pic for historical reasons while they are all open. Help[]
Whenever I log on to the Runescaep website, and go to the forums, at the top of the page ( just above the title of the thread or the index of threads) I get the message in green: 'Your account is currently not eligible to post on the forums.' Does anyone know why this is, and how/when I can post. It may have something to do with the fact that I can't use Free Chat - caht where you say whatever you type, not restricted to quick chat- either, but I recently found out that you have to be a member or have a total skill level of 450 (maybe 350). I am a member, but even when I wasn't, despite having 1000+ skill level, I couldn't post. Apparently, everyone can post on the Customer Support forums; well, not everyone...

- Then I would assume you have to be able to use Free Chat to use the forums. Or maybe it's a glitch since a Free Chat account is sort of "muted".
