popularity of the weapon[]

i think that this is not a popular combat weapon because it has no special charateristics and that players would prefer longsword or scimitars. Explorer's ring 3Btzkillerv has entered the building! Cape (blue) 16:46, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Truth of Grav 2h and rune sword[]

The part in question is "Recently, this weapon has become somewhat more popular in bounty hunter +1 worlds due to the release of the gravite 2h sword. The rune scimitar, the most commonly used main weapon in f2p pvp worlds, will protect over the gravite 2h while the rune sword does not. Therefore player killers who wish to use the gravite 2h as their knock-out weapon may choose use the rune sword as their main weapon in order to prevent the loss of the 2h on death. "

I'm pretty sure this is untrue- the reason people use the rune sword w/ the gravite 2h is because the gravite 2h has odd combat styles- 3 slashes, and 1 crush option. The rune sword's 3rd cb option uses strength, so the switching is compatible w/ the rune 2h. Also, according to many people that own the gravite 2h, the rune scimitar does NOT protect over the gravite 2h. I will now remove the part above (or edit it), unless there is mroe proof that the scimitar does protect over the gravite 2h.  Ranged-icon Zap0i TalkRune scimitar  02:24, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

Rune swords has its uses, among them the ease of Grav 2h knockout, as you can see the value has risen therefore its more of a combination weapon. Moreover, the grav rapier is pretty much a waste of time as the bonuses are not that higher than a rune sword, basically a rune sword is a SLIGHTLY weaker version of the scim and mainly works best with Grav 2h pking, its popularity is shown in its rather dynamic price change 69.115.151.228 22:58, September 5, 2011 (UTC)

Effect on runite ore prices[]

Should it be mentioned that this item is more or less the reason why runite ore will never fall very far below 10k apiece, irrespective of runite's obvious supply issues? Since the rune sword's alch value is 12,480 coins, this effectively sets a minimum value for the one runite ore plus eight coal required to produce it. As far as I know, the rune sword has the highest alch value among all rune items that can be smithed out of just 1 bar, so I conclude that its alch value affects the price of runite ore. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 09:58, October 23, 2012 (UTC)
