Rank 3?

Does anyone know the chance of making a Scavenging 3? I've been making dozens of gizmos using all precious components with no luck. Any advice?

I don't believe Jagex has made an official drop rate statement yet, but Mod Lee [1], Mod Wolf [2], and Mod Shogun [3] have all confirmed on Reddit that the perks rarity is intended to be very rare, and is working in the way they intended it to. If you have a lower Invention level, or don't want to risk spending millions and millions of coins for the chance of obtaining a rank 3, perhaps rank 2 is the better option for you. — Heaven Sent (talk) 14:48, January 6, 2017 (UTC)

I received scavenging rank 3 on the 401st attempt in armour gizmo, with 5x precious components. Some players claim to have received it after over 1k attempts. I will not respond to this discussion.
