Untitled[]

Hey There, I did a few tests of the Scroll of Efficiency on runite, and the conclusions I came to were that a bar was recieved back 5% of the time something was smithed, NOT 5% of the bars were recieved back. I don't know if this goes with other tests people have run.

Thanks, Farmers Myth

Further explanation added. Thanks very much. Rewlf2 05:58, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

Applies to Gielinor (and Daemonheim?)[]

Does this scroll only apply to smithing outside of Daemonheim? ~J22f~TGC 04:36, February 13, 2011 (UTC)7

Nope, does not seem to work in daemonheim, have updated page Brought to you by Omni (Respond!) 16:26, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Scroll of efficiency[]

Why does it say that it is only "permanently" unlocks the wasteless Smithing ability? Does that mean that the effect won't apply for your whole Runescape time? Or does it say that there will be an update on it? I'm very confused, so please help me out.

No, it means that the ability is unlocked permanently.. Meaning you don't have to unlock it again, nor can you lose the ability.

Will it always take effect for the RuneScape account?
Yes.

Even if you log out or don't play for 10 years?
Yes.

How do you know it?
Permanent - "existing or intended to exist for an indefinite period a permanent structure" --User:Cakemix/Sig 16:55, May 13, 2011 (UTC)
Because this is for all unlockable things in RuneScape. For example, unlocking the Ardougne Teleport spell is also a permanent effect. Nobody tested not playing for 10 years, but we can be sure that if you unlock it once, the spell is available for ever. This is just how RuneScape works. This method is also used for the scroll. You will never lose it. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 16:58, May 13, 2011 (UTC)

Is there any way to tell if you've got it before?[]

I haven't played for years. I do have a character that has the dungeoneering level required to have this scroll, but I've completely forgotten if I've gotten it. It'd be a huge pain to get the amount of tokens required to get the scroll again only to find if I've used it before. Is there any convenient way (short of smithing bars and farming all those tokens) to find out whether I've used this scroll before. Brainwasher5 (talk) 16:20, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

Not to my knowledge. Either smith a few bronze bars, which should rather quickly save you some, or get the tokens ans attempt to buy it from the reward shop. It won't allow you to buy it if you already have it. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 17:44, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
Perhaps there was an update. On the wiki page it said you could buy a second scroll as long as you hadn't unlocked the ability yet. I tried and it gave me the error message, although I'm not sure whether that was because I still held the first scroll in my inventory. You could try to see whether you get that message.  83.117.152.205 21:20, February 4, 2016 (UTC)

Protean Bars?[]

Anyone know if Protean Bars work with these? If so, what's the percentage of success? Brainwasher5 (talk) 13:45, March 3, 2015 (UTC)

Nope, requires 3 bars to work. MolMan 13:46, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
