Protection Against Zarosian Creatures?

Just wanted to put it out there that

  • This item is unlike the other listed equipment because it protects from monsters in the ancient prison
  • This article is incomplete because it doesn't specify that protection isn't given in the ancient dungeon.

I haven't done the quest and I know that this article is new and still unfinished; I just want to make sure this gets there.

Communicate with Zaros

Wanted to quickly add that this article is also missing the fact that, when carried in your inventory, you can activate the Memorum device to summon Zaros directly to further ask questions. I think they're the same questions you can ask during the quest itself when you finally meet Zaros' ethereal form. 115.188.201.60 22:51, March 24, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, this seems correct. In addition, when you first have the opportunity to ask Zaros questions, he specifically mentions that there will be time to talk later about certain topics (for instance, his opinions on various other characters). This is referencing the post-quest ability to use the shard to talk to him on Freneskae. RJ815 (talk) 02:13, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
During the quest's chat with Zaros, despite his saying that certain topics could be discussed later, I was able to question him (and get an answer) about anything I asked him. None of these options seem to have changed for me after completing the quest. It may be an error or something. Nothing special here. (talk) 05:51, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
While Zaros suggests that certain topics can be discussed later, he doesn't actually prevent you from asking about it then. The few questions he initially dismisses seem mostly unrelated to his philosophy and to the player forming an opinion on whether or not the player should help him, so I suppose Jagex is saying then that you don't really need to ask these before making a decision. I don't think it's an error, just a developer suggestion, especially since listening to every answer for every option takes quite a bit of time. RJ815 (talk) 15:03, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, yes, I get your point now. That does make sense. Nothing special here. (talk) 14:38, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

why not

why not link Zaros in the page and say where the shard came from(his arm)?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 187.75.15.209 (talk) on 22:20, March 25, 2014 (UTC).

You are free to edit the article yourself if you think it is missing information and hyperlinks. xHR7zpA.png6encXAo.png 22:25, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

Protected on Death?

Is this item protected on death, kept on death or destroyed on death? I hope it wont be a nusance for dieing in gwd and having to retreive.

Green Mage48 (talk) 12:27, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

I just took a quick look at the Items Kept on Death interface, it shows that the shard WILL be kept on death, however it will be dropped should you die in the wilderness with it. Abyssal vine whip TonyBest100 Bandos chestplate 13:06, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

How is it reclaimed when dropped on death in wilderness? Good i snipr (talk) 15:53, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

That's described in the destroy text. MolMan 15:55, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

What is "general combat mode?"

The text says the shard makes "all Nihil fought in general combat mode." non-agressive... what does this mean? As far as I know, the only combat modes are Legacy mode and EoC mode, if it means one of these, it ought to say that more clearly. If it means something else then it still ought to say that more clearly! 86.160.89.141 02:03, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

That's a good question. Looking at the history, the initial text was "It also makes all Nihil in combat mode non aggressive" with the edit summary saying "saying the Nihil are also affected by the shard if you fight them in combat mode". I suppose some edits after that didn't fully understand it and butchered the original message, to try to fit it into the sentence. My interpretation of the original text is that, if you have the shard equipped (or maybe if you equip it while in combat), then Nihil that are currently in combat with you will become non-aggressive. That makes even less sense to me, though, so I think I'll remove it for the time being. I don't think Nihil are aggressive in the first place, but I haven't been there since day one or two. If anyone understands what this is suppose to mean, go ahead and add it back, but please try to explain it clearly. Nothing special here. (talk) 04:13, December 12, 2014 (UTC)
Nevermind; I probably should have researched a little more myself. Nihil are apparently aggressive post-quest, and it this aggressiveness that the shard removes. The sentence was just worded awkwardly. The non-aggression of Nihil is mentioned in the aggressiveness article, which I was randomly reading. Nothing special here. GWD2

Will the shard work as well for GWD2? Garrec3 (talk) 11:01, March 29, 2016 (UTC)
