Maybe a picture of the new steel dragon.. Red partyhatDreadnoughttalk 22:57, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

User:Raanyar, you just added the *Adamantite bar (2) to the drop list. Are you really sure this isn't a drop from a nearby iron dragon? Because i'm killing a lot of steel dragons currently and i got no addy bar drop so far. 19:15, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Price for Cons

Is the 10m required to have it in your throne room the highest price for any item?

(Any item meaning an item that is not bought from other players.)

I have no clue what you are talking about, so let me clarify about the steel dragon in a house. In a house, you can "build" a steel dragon ONLY in your treasure room, provided that you have at LEAST 92 construction with a cup of tea, at the cost of 10m. There are other guardians you can build in your treasure room, but they are all less expensive.--Pkthis 00:48, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Not true its acaully 89-90 con with a 3 dose evil stew and getting a lucky boost of 6 or 5 respectivly. 90 con has a better chance of receiving the boost as a +6 boost with the stew is very rare. Oh and it would be nice to post a max for the "fire breath" on the monster's stats. BTW steel dragon is NOT the most expensive construction item, its the demonic throne which costs 25 magic stones!(975k X 25 = 24.375mill) --Fools! Da wabbit is dead... 21:36, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

I've marked this page for cleanup, mostly because the drop list has suspicious drops (11 gold charms?), and the article contains a lot of player slang. I'd make these changes myself, but I don't know much about steel dragons and can't confirm any information about then. --Psycho Robot 07:52, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Needs revision

This article is a bit too vague, when it comes to actually killing these. It definitely needs a "Strategy section", but since I'm new to this wiki's style, I'm not sure if I could pull it off properly. Anyone mind making a start? DjIceman 01:42, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

Don't be discouraged by being new to the wiki, be bold, and if you do make mistakes then they can easily be fixed. The hardest part is actually writing down the text, not knowing how to link pages or add headers. Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 01:55, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
Teeeheee... ¬_¬ Wouldn't want to be too bold now. :P Anyway, is there a good section for finding templates? Are there any 'styles' I should follow before making a whole 'strategy' section? If I make this strategy section, can I use it widely on many similar pages? Can I make my own template for a "Recommended levels" list? I just found out about Wikia and it's templates yesterday, to be honest. I'm a quick learner, some might say. :P

What kind of template are you looking for?? RuneScape:Templates has a lot of the standard templates that are used. If that is not what you mean, then Help:Contents has links to nearly every help page on the whole wiki. Nobody has ever talked about unifying all strategy sections, so you are free to do whatever you want with it since there are no real expectations for what a strategy section looks like. They are all different. As for the template, you don't have to ask about it. If you think it is a good idea to make one, then make one. Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 05:05, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! :) You've been very helpful! =) DjIceman 05:57, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

Wewt! Done! :) Well, I put in a lot of information. If someone could make sure that other parts of the article doesn't contain duplicates of the information provided in the Strategy section, it would be great. :) DjIceman 10:30, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

*sigh* The whole Brimhaven dungeon section is a nightmare... I feel like it needs to be removed, or heavily modified.  Zaros symbol    « Iceman »      15:32, December 15, 2009 (UTC)
You can click on the date in the history section for it to take you to what the page was then. (see here)Be weiry when doing this in case there has been an edit since which you want to keep.
Also, while you can think that someone is a moron, you should never vocalise it because it is never necessary to say in a conversation (see user treatment policy). Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 00:50, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I was shocked to see, that most of my work had been REMOVED. I know about the date and that you can click on it... BUT, what if I want to see the old source?  Zaros symbol    « Iceman »      07:14, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

No, it just gives me the current one. :/  Zaros symbol    « Iceman »      19:04, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
This is the page that I go to when I click on the edit button on an old edit. You should get a warning message at the top of the page about you editing an old version of the page. Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 00:28, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

I'm thinking of removing the whole Brimhaven dungeon section. Maybe, just maybe spreading some of the information elsewhere. Thoughts?  Zaros symbol    « Iceman »      18:18, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

My thought was to create a strategies sub-page and move all of this information there, so that anyone looking for information on the creature itself wouldn't be.... distracted by this new section. Then, that sub-page can be improved independently. I started to make the sub-page, then thought to check here first for discussion... JalYt-Mej-Wynde 19:17, December 17, 2009 (UTC)
I don't know... A sub page makes the information kind of too spread, in my opinion.  Zaros symbol    « Iceman »      21:01, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

All the methods

I dont see why the guthans, bones to peaches and food methods are listed, as I have never seen any1 try to use the guthans one (too slow) or the bones to peaches (too slow), and the only attempts ive seen with food only merit a couple of kills, so not even worth suggesting. You should however include a but about tanking them with a unicorn for healing, as with good armour and 95+ defence you can just about manage, though antifires are also needed. By far the best melee method is using prayer.

Also, for range and mage there should only be methods with antifire potions mentioned, as any other method will result in the person dying before they could kill even 1 dragon, or using so much food that antifire potions would be cheaper. I mean, yes, you could use those other methods, but in the bandos boss article they dont give methods for trying to solo him using a rubber chicken, do they. Only practical methods will help.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 03:48, January 7, 2010 (UTC).

I recently purchased a Staff of Light, and had steel dragons for Slayer. And as usual I look up their weakness, Fire spells? Alright.. I decide to use Fire Wave to kill steel dragons.

I had the best gear, even seers ring (i) the amount of splashing was incredible, steels took minutes to kill.

The other weakness is stab, and to my surprise it died within seconds. With a zamorak spear.

So where did you guys got that its weakness was fire spells? That's incorrect information.

Even whipping it, is a lot faster. AnemoneS2 19:32, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

I went out there with 86 magic, Void Knight Mage set, SOL, mystic boots, guthix cape and glory, casting Magic Dart. I sorta agree with the above. While I didn't have toooo much splashing, I didn't get anywhere near the hits I should have gotten if it was a weakness (and remember this is with armour that increases accuracy 30%). While it's not a weakness, it's not a strength and I think I'll continue to mage (at least for now).It took me about 40 casts to kill one dragon, which is.. decent, I guess.. but not what it should be for a "weakness". I'll try next round casting Fire Wave. Teri (: 21:41, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

Dragon Plateleg Drop

Dragon Platelegs (1/75) - Where did that come from? I myself and people I know have killed hundreds/thousands of steels and gotten 2-3 dragon platelegs.

I personally JUST got my first pair and I've killed at least 1,000.

The drop lists aren't supposed to have the exact rate anyway, it's impossible to tell. The drops are random. BlazeTheMovieFan 14:33, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

During my task I got 1 drop of dragon plateskirt. that was after 120 dragons killed.Heavyoak (talk) 22:53, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

Do steel dragons really drop 3 soul runes?

I have fought many steel dragons and never once got 3 soul runes. However I have gotten 5 soul runes several times. You shouldn't mix up the things steel dragons drop with the things that iron dragons drop. I'm sure whoever changed the drop quanity to 3 had good intentions, so I'm gonna discuss instead of just undoing his edotþ

Which leads me to another question, do they really drop adamant sq shield? Acordding to the list, they drop adamant kiteshield as uncommon drops, but sq as rare. I really think someone messed it up with iron dragons. BlazeTheMovieFan 01:06, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

Yew log drop

I just got a drop of 4284 noted yew logs from a steel dragon in Kuradal's. I don't see this on the drop table. New or a glitch? AnselaJonla

BY chance were you wearing a ring of wealth? Honour Coelacanth0794 Talk Square sandwich 00:37, March 16, 2011 (UTC)
"I wasn't wearing a row at the time." AnselaJonla
A ring of wealth isn't needed to gain acces to the Rare Drop Table. It just increases the likelihood of getting drops from it when it is accessed.

Magic seeds

just got 3 magic seeds at steel dragons in kuradels dungeon. not sure how to post sorry if this is wrong spot. was wearing ROW got no message about it though.

New Drop

Got 200 noted battles staves, not wearing ROW (dragonstone (i) and glory though ....) 08:30, March 16, 2011 (UTC)

I also just got 100 clean snapdragons (not on the list) -kohora

That is probably the rare drop table--Qazwsx753421 04:04, March 24, 2011 (UTC)

I got a dragon dagger as a drop, while wearing a ROW. I didn't get the message in the box telling me that the ROW made an effect though. - Z947

Me too. I've killed hundreds of steel dragons, and never got that drop before. I added it to the drop table, but it's most likely from the improved rare table.

I recieved 234 adamantite ore -no ROW message

Rune Arrows

I received 150 rune arrows as a drop, think it's part of the regular drop.

No, it's part of the Rare drop table. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 05:55, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

Deflect Melee no effect?

Well, I was just at steelies using deflect melee, and realized that after 71 dragons, not once had I actually deflected any damage back to them. Has anyone else noticed this, and is it only on steels? Or is it some shared quality amongst metal dragons? Farming cape (t) Ededdeddy97 Quest point cape 23:55, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Silver ore drop

Hi, I've just been killing steels at ghorrock, and got 100 silver ore (noted) as a drop. I was going to add this to the page, but what odds should I put? has anyone else got this?

(it's not listed as a rare drop table drop - unfortunately, since I was wearing my archer ring, I have no idea whether it was rare drop table.) 23:26, August 25, 2011 (UTC)Joe (Crazycheese2)

It's a rare drop table drop. It should have been listed, but for some reason it wasn't, so I've added it. Thanks for letting us know. Suppa chuppa Talk 23:29, August 25, 2011 (UTC)

I noticed someone put the following under trivia. "Leech Ranged does not work against Steel dragons, implying that they do not possess a Ranged level. This may be because they do not use any Ranged attacks, as dragon fire is not considered ranged. The same can be said for Bronze and Iron dragons. Mithril Dragons use Range, therefore, leech Ranged does affect them."

I'd like to point out that DragonFire counts as magic attacks, not ranged as protect from magic blocks it while protect from range does not. Someone should do a proper test using leech magic instead. pyrolord 04:50, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

Again, where is your proof?

Every time I leave this article alone, people keep adding 3 soul runes and 15 blood runes. So I wanna ask, where is your proof? You can't just say they drop 3 sooul runes and 15 blood runes without bringing up any valid proof. Knowing they drop it isn't good enough. Also, when you're at Brimhaven Dungeon you will see that there are iron dragons in there as well. So I'm sure most people who think they killed a steel dragon did in reality kill iron dragons.

I won't believe you until you show me proof those dragons drop those things. I have been killing thousands of those dragons so I know they don't drop 3 sould runes or 15 blood runes. If you think I'm wrong prove me wrong. BlazeTheMovieFan 15:00, November 11, 2011 (UTC)

go kill them at Ghorrock and you will find they do. Bep-Anne (talk) 12:34, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

200 adamant bolts drop

Just recieved 200 adamant bolts from a Steel Dragon. My RoW didn't glow, so I assume this is instead a rather rare drop. Unfortunately I have no idea how to edit Wiki drop tables so if somebody could add this it would be good :).

Edit, whoops, didn't see that this was on the rare drop table.

Your ring of wealth doesn't have to shine to get a rare drop table drop. In fact, you can get items from the rdt without even having a row ;). Iascan 00:04, December 24, 2011 (UTC)

Steel Dragons Guide(Problem)

ok this post is basically about the steel dragons lair. 3 times i have been to steel dragons now only to find out my agility or woodcutting level isnt high enough. if you had wrote this on the guide then i wouldnt have wasted trips coins and food. you need atleast 12 agility, and atleast 34 woodcutting. if you could add this to the guide in someway that would be good, and possibly save other people from wasted trips. thanks :) 22:30, May 16, 2012 (UTC)iFeram

Ignoring the fact that you went three times, knowing it wouldn't work... Which lair are you talking about? User:Urbancowgurl777/Signature 22:38, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

lol i dont know whether you have just added it in or i was just being stupid and couldnt see it eariler but i just seen that it does say you need 12 agility and 34 woodcutting. sorry if i have wasted your time. :( 22:46, May 16, 2012 (UTC)iFeram

Rune 2h sword

Now I wanna ask, are you sure rune 2h swords are "very rare" drops and not just rare? From 1,000 steel dragons I got around 3 rune 2h swords, that's not "very" rare to me. "very rare" would mean every 1,000 kills at least. I think rune 2h sword is just a rare drop, not very rare.

It drops that item more than most other monsters. BlazeTheMovieFan 01:32, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

I am having this discussion open for a week, if nobody opposes by then I will change the drop rate back to rare. BlazeTheMovieFan 01:34, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Slayer xp for steel dragons.

Editted out the with slayer gloves part because it was causing the calculator to render a NaN result. However it is still rendering slighly wrong and disply like 8 places behind the decimal.

I killed 83 steel dragons and I got a rune kiteshield. Is it really a very rare drop from rare drop table or it's a drop from steel dragon? Cheukming (talk) 10:17, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

water wave does nothing

I was using water wave and had 90% splash, while using runes per splash, while not causing any damage. I left the cave 2k air and 2k water left from 1m or each and still had 40 kills left. I went back and finished with full guthan's and had better kill rate and faster kills. --Heavyoak (talk) 22:58, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

Brawling gloves drop?

I don't really know what to say here but i just killed a steel dragon in kuradal's dungeon, no ring of wealth on if that matters and it dropped a pair of smithing brawling gloves, i don't know what's going on because it's not on the drop table. Is it some sort of universal drop or was it a glitch or maybe a new update or something? 08:28, May 5, 2014 (UTC)reedos392.28.239.169 08:28, May 5, 2014 (UTC)
