RuneScape Wiki
This talk page is for discussing the Strange token page.

Rarity[]

DG journals:
- Marmaros and Thok - 1/1000 (drops for the whole party)
- Misc. journals 1 through 15 (boss monster drops, drops for the whole party) - 1/1000 drop chance
-- Chronicles of Bilrach are still up for discussion as they are lore-related.
-- Kal'Gerion Notes, Stalker Notes and Behemoth Notes would be included.
- Misc. journals 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 not included due to drop rate ranging from 1/10000 to 1/50000. This is the exception we are going to be sticking with because such highly luck based factors is not one of our intentions.

Fairly sure the misc journal droprate is off (since I have 13 of them), but the rest should be added yeah. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon 21:34, August 6, 2015 (UTC)

  • Mod Manti: PSA: Marmaros and Thok journals' dropping floors since it has been asked quite a lot.
  • Player: @JagexManti Can you give some more info about strange token as well? *wink wink* :3
  • Mod Manti: It's basically 50 times rarer, only dropped on warped floors and will only drop if you fail to get the more common journals.;)
  • Player: @JagexManti All warped? All complexities? :o
  • Mod Manti: @FarmerLuvan I can't see anything in the code that would be influenced by complexities. And yes, all warped floors from what I can see.:)
  • Player: @JagexManti Does the type of monster affect drop rates in any way, or is’t the same for every one?
  • Mod Manti: @FarmerLuvan From what I can see - it's any monster on that floor with a very high drop chance.
  • Player: @JagexManti @FarmerLuvan Don't you mean a very low drop chance? ;) Why even is it so rare? Are 15-19 equally rare too or?
  • Mod Manti: @Peter777_j @FarmerLuvan 16-19 aren't as rare as the strange token but they're very rare.

Webcite link needed[]

I have added the drop rate.
However, someone has to make a http://webcite.org link that links to this page — all you have to do is make a webcite link and paste it in order to change the url parameter in this template that is located in the strange token page. I have added a comment next to the template; please delete it after you've changed the url.

Other people[]

For some reason, it doesn't appear on the floor for other people except me. I tried trading it, and the game immediately kicked me out of the dungeon:

It still recorded me having it though. --Jlun2 (talk) 08:25, December 28, 2015 (UTC)

It doesn't appear on my adventure logs despite others seem to. --Jlun2 (talk) 12:00, December 28, 2015 (UTC)

This April Fools' pizza system works in Daemonheim and produces the same message. This suggests that you're booted because the game thinks the Strange token is something that you shouldn't be allowed to have in Daemonheim.

Lore[]

So....did we ever get any reason why this looks like the Fist of guthix token other than "Jagex reuses sprites"? --Jlun2 (talk) 04:18, December 29, 2015 (UTC)

It's probably related to the Smuggler, like the other hidden warped misc journals. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon 12:22, December 29, 2015 (UTC)
