Revision as of 18:53, 23 August 2016

This talk page is for discussing the Summer Beach Party page.

World Hop List

could we please get a members world line up for Clawdia instead of free worlds? I can't use my weapon on free worlds nor can I use shark to heal.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 96.27.158.146 (talk) on 21:38, June 30, 2015‎ (UTC).

From what I've read, the F2P worlds (3, 7, 11, 43, 61, 80, [8], 41, 135, [136], 141, 29, 38, with some variation) were chosen because Clawdia is killed too quickly on P2P worlds (making world hopping to her in time more difficult).  At this point the F2P worlds are pretty established, so they're likely going to stay.  You can use F2P weapons or just punch her, you don't need to bother with healing.  Also the wiki wasn't really the place for that world list anyway, so it was rightly removed (and so, as it relates to this post, P2P worlds couldn't be added at this point anyway). Zants (talk) 05:23, July 3, 2015 (UTC)

Swimming Outfit

"Swimming outfit - 50 maxed thermometers" how is this possible when the limit is 3 times day from eating ice creams? yet people already have the swimming outfit. Is this wrong information or is there another way to reset the theromometer apart from ice creams?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 222.154.166.135 (talk).

There was a glitch to reset it. The people that have it already are going to get it reset. MolMan 00:17, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Enlightenment Aura

Does the Enlightenment aura provide double xp for all skilling actions at the beach party? Asbakkie (talk) 02:04, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Most likely yes, is it worth doing? no. the exp rates arent even that great are they? apart from fishing  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 222.154.166.135 (talk).

Confirmed Enlightenment aura multiplies with the cocktail boosts. Exmaple: 240xp at citadel loom became 528xp with Enlightenment aura and five Purple Lumbridge. Also, the timer of the cocktail boost is reset to 30 minutes every time you drink. I drank my 5th when the 8% boost was at 5m left and I had 10% for a whole 30m. Geotim90 (talk) 19:23, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

By depositing fish to the table near nigel, I managed to get 4276 XP per inventory of fish with enlightenment, fishermen outfit, anti sun potion, and 10% cocktail boost during rock pool spotlight. Took a week to gather all the fish beforehand, and with a starting rocktail bubble, managed to obtain 457k Fish XP in 1 hour. --Jlun2 (talk) 18:33, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

Beachcomber?

Is there any actual evidence for this title existing?JacerPPC (talk) 06:44, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

I'm of the opinion that it should be removed from the wiki page until evidence to support its existence is provided.  This topic on RSOF claims that it came from a tweet but is unable to locate said tweet (and I can't find anything on it either).  Zants (talk) 05:29, July 3, 2015 (UTC)
I found the tweet! Can Beachcomber plz be shifted to a Batch 2 heading? I will try but I have little faith in my editing skills. JacerPPC (talk) 17:57, July 3, 2015 (UTC)

The Battle Winner title

Someone added this to the list of titles. Requirement is to win a toy pirate battleship. I thought this was impossible by design. Also, it would be the 9th hidden title and I thought 8 were confirmed to exist. Should we remove this from list? Thingummywut (talk) 10:13, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

I expect it is a troll; otherwise at least this thread would've had a mention of it. Also, all of the current titles can be received by playing the event long enough; toy battleships are, however, a limited resource and if it is at all possible to win from a pirate battleship, it is excessively rare. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 10:59, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

The Cocktail Extender

Due to the way boost timers work in Runescape, I hedged my bets at what I like to call the cocktail extender. Basically, any time you drink a cocktail you get an added 2% boost and the timer for the boost is reset to 30m, regardless of how long a previous boost still had on cool-down. This means that even at the 10% cap, you can extend the 10% timer by up to just under 30m by drinking an additional cocktail. It is also worth noting that the cocktail boost multiplies with an active Enlightenment aura granting 120% bonus experience.

I'm adding two points to the trivia section. If anyone has a better way to incorporate them in the article or a better place to note these effects, please feel free to do so. Geotim90 (talk) 19:39, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Moved this information to each cocktail page. User:Night Fears/Signature/1 02:20, July 3, 2015 (UTC)
Hey, that's not a bad idea. --Commander Ajikan 16:03, July 5, 2015 (UTC)  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ajikan1 (talk) on 16:03, July 5, 2015 (UTC).

Are all beach rewards obtainable as drops?

Are all of the items listed at the Beach rewards section obtainable as a drop from skilling and killing Clawdia?  Specifically, are the non-tradeable items — Masterwork music boxParty pack, and Dwarven challenge barrel — obtainable as drops, or are you required to use Runecoins to get them?  Zants (talk) 06:27, July 3, 2015 (UTC)

I'm fairly certain that's the case (that is, they're obtainable), I don't see why they'd break consistency just because those items are non-tradeable. 122.111.80.18 09:09, July 4, 2015 (UTC)
I haven't heard of anyone receiving the music box, party pack nor challenge barrel. The jellyfish and fish out of the water pets are not available yet by any means, to my knowledge. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 09:25, July 4, 2015 (UTC)

Strange rocks

I got cooking rocks from grill, but I haven't seem to obtain other rocks from other activities. Do they give any rocks at all? --Jlun2 (talk) 17:58, July 9, 2015 (UTC)

I just got a farming rock, and two golden farming rocks shortly after that, so I'd imagine yes. Trunkuza (talk) 13:30, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

The message you replied to dates back to before the last game update, when other plots did indeed not give rocks. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 15:17, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

Mine did not say 10 ice creams until I ate my first today (9 before that). I have definitely passed 20 ice creams eaten prior to the update. Clawdia kills and full thermometers also stop counting at 50, displaying "50+" afterwards instead. Will know about ice creams past 10 soon. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 16:56, July 13, 2015 (UTC)
Eating another changed the stats to "10+" ice creams eaten. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 17:06, July 13, 2015 (UTC)

Clawdia

I wonder if anyone else has noticed that as your health goes down during the fight against Clawdia, the damage she deals to you decreases, eventually reaching a point where your standard health regen is greater than her damage... For me, this is around 400 hp, IDK if it's different for everyone, or if this is a hard minimum cap. . . The moment I noticed that I was being hit for 10s and 40s instead of multiple hundreds, however, I wondered to myself just how many people wasted moey eating food unecessarily, wasted prayer points on Soul Split, and wasted DPS potential by using Ice Asylum instead of a damaging Ultimate... Trunkuza (talk) 13:55, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

That is correct, Clawdia's damage scales with your current life points. That is also why the Summer Beach Party is not a dangerous activity; you can get to low health, but it is technically impossible to die. Lily of the valley ThePsionic White Rabbit 14:08, July 14, 2015 (UTC)
How does one explain Talk:Clawdia then (for the dying part, I concur with damage scaling with current lp)? IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 15:17, July 14, 2015 (UTC)
I'm the person that tested it and added that.  It was done on a level 3 account primarily for the concern of skillers, but also because I just wanted to test if it was possible to die to it at all.  Yesterday I saw someone nearly die to it that was 80+ combat though, so I assume you need to be pretty high combat for your regen to outpace it.  (They were at 120 HP, and then got hit for a few 30s before they ran away.)  Zants (talk) 05:04, July 15, 2015 (UTC)
I should probably reword that. Dawned on me today when doing a fight, that my use of "standard regen" is inaccurate. That is my mistake and I apologize. I was referring to the entirely wrong thing without realizing it, due to complacency with my current ability setup... I think of the health gain from Sacrifice like it's a sort of regen, and since it's on my revolution bar, I don't think twice about the fact that it's there... so again, I apologize, that's my mistake. I was on an ability bar without it today, and when Clawdia despawned at :50, I was at 38 hp and was was being hit for 1s and 2s. For sake of further completeness: I was also wearing the farmers' set, and was using the non-passive Lucky Saradomin Godsword. Trunkuza (talk) 11:15, July 15, 2015 (UTC)

Renaming?

It looks like this event is just called the Beach this year. Should the article be moved to reflect that? Thingummywut (talk) 13:08, August 15, 2016 (UTC)

"The Summer Beach Party has returned to Lumbridge Crater once again, making it the place to be until the 12th September." --Iiii I I I 17:30, August 15, 2016 (UTC)
Fair enough, missed that one. That's just in the news article, though. I haven't seen a reference to "Summer Beach Party" anywhere in game. Thingummywut (talk) 05:37, August 16, 2016 (UTC)

New Titles

There doesn't appear to be a place to store the new titles on the main article yet, so I'm putting this info here for now.

I got the title "the Beachy Keen" while playing hook-a-duck. When I won the title, the message said, "What a master duck hunter! You have unlocked the title: the Beachy Keen" White Tree (talk) 17:07, August 15, 2016 (UTC)

Got the title "the Sunkissed" while listening to the Large Shell. The message was: "You've been so chatty with your new conch shell friend! You have unlocked the title: the Sunkissed" White Tree (talk) 17:13, August 15, 2016 (UTC)

Got the title "the Sun-sational" after completing every activity on the beach. Message: "You've shown off your advanced beach skills! You have unlocked the title: the Sun-sational" White Tree (talk) 17:28, August 15, 2016 (UTC)

--Jlun2 (talk) 00:36, August 16, 2016 (UTC)

I know some people might ask how is this helpful. Since it always take ~9 seconds to get XP, so 3600/9 = 400 actions. This assumes you don't hop worlds and eat ice cream in 1 tick, so it will be lower. Just multiply 390-400 by the above experience corresponding to the level to get XP/Hr, or if you don't care for per hour and instead per bar multiply by 108. --Jlun2 (talk) 17:06, August 19, 2016 (UTC)
I asked Gaz, and given the data it seems to be
Levels 1 to 63, floor(4.25 * level + 40)
Levels 64-99, floor(7.63 * level - 171.763)

This isn't 100% perfect but fits within 1 xp based on testing. Tyvm! --Jlun2 (talk) 22:51, August 20, 2016 (UTC)

Edit: Apparently it's floor to the nearest 0.1 place. --Jlun2 (talk) 23:10, August 20, 2016 (UTC)
I'm getting exactly 584.0 XP per Cooking action at level 99. There is a tiny chance that it's actually 583.9 if I did some mistakes earlier but I don't think so. So both the info in the XP list and Gaz's formula is slightly wrong. Thingummywut (talk) 10:03, August 23, 2016 (UTC)
