Verification of this "Cross Guard voyage".

It has been ages since release and to my knowledge there is no one who's got a tsuba or kaseki aside from story missions, should the claim about this supposed Cross Guard voyage really stick around without reasonable proof? An anonymous contributor (talk) 23:19, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

Are JMod posts enough proof?,16,813,65561811&showuser=Mod+Rowley IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:41, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
In that case, it probably wouldn't hurt for someone to link that as a source. An anonymous contributor (talk) 15:58, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
Has anyone actually gotten this standard voyage? On the day of the Ports Update (January 26, 2015), I was already 6,000,000 miles travelled and was therefore eligible to see this voyage on Day One. It's March 2, 2015 now, and with 15 voyages per day * 36 = 540 standard voyages (all in The Shield) sifted through, I haven't yet even seen "Cross Guard voyage". 00:01, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
I have been waiting for it to show up; no luck so far. It is supposedly very rare. I do doubt you actually saw only Shield voyages in all those rerolls; I get plenty Terracotta and others while focussing on Shield. With the Beta, someone could have fun reloading their save all day long until one shows up... IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:52, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
Fix inbound. "Fix in QA for Ports 3 weapon component voyages. Fingers crossed it'll be in the next update. Reqs = max distance and unlocked Exile's Point." "Was always intended around 1/100, but component voyages were being superceded by other voyage types." 12:15, March 5, 2015 (UTC)
Hah, great news. I'll update the requirements. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 13:25, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

It's very uncommon. 42 days * 15 voyages per day = 630 voyages with the focus on The Shield, got a standard Tengu Tsuba voyage... Ugh... check that. It's a Tengu Tsuba voyage requiring 15,000 Morale + 15,000 Combat + 15,000 Seafaring. Whereas "Cross Guard Voyage" requires 11,400 Morale + 11,400 Combat + 11,400 Seafaring (according to this Wikipedia). Therefore, 630 voyages all with focus in The Shield, and still no "Cross Guard Voyage". 23:29, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Not 42 days. 1 day. It's been unglitched and truely available for 1 day. MolMan 23:31, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

More than two tengu tsubas

Once you've completed voyages to successfully obtain two tengu tsubas, you can (if you have the other port resources, plate and pearls, to go with the tengu tsubas) create the two katanas (mainhand and offhand).

But once you've obtained two tengu tsubas, other port voyages come along, offering a tengu tsuba as a reward. As the katanas are not tradeable, is it worth it going after voyages that have a tengu tsuba as a reward?

If you want to make more katanas (for exp or if you lost them), sure. Weird gloop @Gaz#7521 14:48, March 23, 2015 (UTC)
Additionally, if you get spare tsubas, they can be used to repair the katana 50%, and the wakizashi (offhand) 95%, thus saving you a fair bit in repair costs (at 99 smithing, that'd be 625k for the mainhand) --Jimwormmaster (talk) 04:08, March 24, 2017 (UTC)

Other than learning that JMods cannot pronounce Japanese, the developer Q&A and mini-game spotlight twitch stream has taught us that soon(TM) (currently in QA, they said) an update will allow tengu tsuba and gemstone kaseki to be used to repair the POP weapons (each providing 50% charges for a main-hand weapon, and 100% charges for an off-hand weapon). Distance may not be accurate?

I just got this mission at 5,741,221 distance.
