I am in the Pincers region. Have been for a long time. I wondered the same thing. I only have 5 chi in total in my inventory of trade goods. Since then I have determine I will never have 90 rc so I don't ever do chi missions. Not sure if that might have anything to with it? GP value of port resources and hence value of black market deals

If Chi, for example, can fetch 71,221, then cherrywood is worth (at least) 23. On this basis I would reject the black market offer of cherrywood for 600 coins. Rich Farmbrough, 13:12 9 January 2014 (UTC).

I think it was quite clear that the exchange rate of both the Trader and the Black Marketeer favour them tremendously. It's unlikely buying resources, then trade goods will ever provide you with a profit. I think it would be interesting to indeed calculate the worth per resource at a given time; but that would become loooong expressions as the best item to make with a certain trade good also changes in time... It's not too bad, I have created a table and placed it on the article page. It is immediately apparent that buying anything but plate (that we know of so far) is a bad idea. Rich Farmbrough, 16:46 9 January 2014 (UTC).

Anomaly

Spies, lacquer and chi have the same values. I would hazard that Jagex have swapped the spices and steel rows in there database. Rich Farmbrough, 17:33 9 January 2014 (UTC).

Chance of getting a plate offering before its changed is small I guess.... ratio between the exchange values of the trade goods is 40/30/24/20/15/12 btw. Rich Farmbrough, 17:47 9 January 2014 (UTC).
